hi, I am looking at flying out to the US for some US shows. Does anyone have any idea of when / where these will be? I can fly to either LA or NY. Any ideas / thoughts where the most shows are likely to hang around? Are domestic plane flights cheap in the US? |
Lisser 04.05.2005 09:12 |
Hey Richard, I'll be happy to help you find some deals. I live near Cincinnati. If Queen + PR come here then you BETTER make sure you get to see that gig!! You can stay at my house. |

I hope some dates in the South East as Paul Rodgers seems to play the South quite a bit when he tours. |

southwest airlines is cheap to fly any where in usa, mostly $79-129 USD a flight, problem is not many in the north, but any where in the south is a givin. Major cities that are near me that would be a givin, are chicago-detroit-cleveland-cinninati-st.louis, other cities are more travel time, hard part about following a band in the states is the distance you need to travel, cheaper hotels are Motel 6 travel lodge red roof inn for me peronally, 3 shows would be enough =) |

I'll travel wherever I have to to see my boys. As long as it is in summer, I'll bring the wife as well as my little girl... My daughter has already seen Bruce, add to that Queen? Erin 04.05.2005 12:56 |

I nominate either Erin or William. Is Paulie going to see a fair amount of concerts? Pfff of course he is. He might want to coooooooordinate. I def think it's a good idea to start getting this together. I'm very optimistic that they will come here. We can all have territories to take care of out of towners. William is in the Northeast, I am in the Mideast, Erin is in the Southeast, Paulie is in the dirrty, dirrty aka the ATL, Jingles is in NYC right, so extreme Northeast? I know there are some zoners in Texas (midsouth) and MexQueen is in California. I'm not sure there is much in between me and Mex though. Which leaves about 4000 miles unaccounted for!!! DOH! I'm not sure Queen will hit the midwest though, what do you all think? I think St. Louis will be as far as they go before hitting LA or Las Vegas. Ali, where are you again? Janet is between William and I in Northern Ohio. All I can say is any concert near Cincinnati, everyone has a place to stay at my house. FREE DRINKS and I am a fabulous cook!!! |

kohuept 04.05.2005 15:19 |
Well, if you're looking to minimize things a bit, I would think LA would be a good bet since they will most likely hit there. Plus, from there Vegas is only about a 5 hour drive - an extremely EASY drive, at that. I'm in Salt Lake (don't ask) with family in NW OH, so I think I'll have the extremes covered. I don't have much room at my place to offer, but will gladly recommend places to stay and/or provide transport to the gigs I'm hitting. I think we should all do this even if they don't tour the US - but let's not think that way! |

Richard, I would think that they will likely play Vegas, as a cross promotion for WWRY, New York, LA, maybe Miami, Chicago, & Cleveland because they are all key cities. I have NO idea why, BUT every major UK act that comes to the USA, as well as some top USA bands, usually (not always though) start out in Palm Beach, or Miami, Florida. Maybe has something to do with Clear Channel who books all acts in the USA. Sting, U2, Ozzy, Doves, all have started there in the last couple of tours. So keep your eye down there. Or consult Clear Channel, who I believe are based in Houston, Texas. |

I'm on. Seems if they do hit the states, it will mostly be a big city tour far and between dates, im pretty sure they will have a support act, as that stuff is not tolorated here, bands without support acts, only those shows that go beyond 3 hours. Since it is the fall, you figure no open air shows or festivals, mostly small arena's and halls. Maybe 1 or 2 new Paul songs, as he is quite popular here, every one I know, knows feel like making love more then 80% of the Queen stuff they are using on this tour. I'll wait for the dates before jumping the ship, as you never know how they will plan it. |
wstüssyb 06.05.2005 00:53 |
oh BTW, I did buy a new house a few months ago and have a large living room, but doubt any shows near me for people who will need a space, unless they play Grand Rapids Michigan, I'm too far for a major city stay over, Unless they play Chicago then Detroit the next day or so, or Vice versa. |

Knute 07.05.2005 22:42 |
Here's an idea. How about Kansas? They would be far superior to Boston if you're gonna have a classic 70's band on the bill. Are Boston even together anymore? Kansas just did a UK tour, so I know they're still kickin'. The guys in Kansas were Queen fans themselves and I think they would be a better fit. Now that would be an amazing show!(as long as it don't cut down Q+PR's time) |

Nah... Knute, I'm a huge classic rock fan...but I wouldn't walk across the street to hear the always depressing, and stunningly boring "Dust in the wind". While Boston never pumped me up too much.... queenfan7474 16.05.2005 10:07 |
none of those bands are going to help attract more fans.kansas is now a club band in the usa.they are playing bb kings here in new york and that only holds 1000 people.styx is ok but they only have 2 members also.personally i hate boston so i hope its not them.if they want to play arenas, they have to get a younger band.get the foo fighters or one of the other bands that queen has influenced.one of the bands that are on the tribute album thats coming out would draw more people then kansas ever will. |
wstüssyb 16.05.2005 11:43 |
Styx plays here in July with Foghat opening for them, next Night is whitesnake and the night before Styx is Jounrey.. I agree, Queen needs a younger band or no band opening for them. |

Whoa! Tour with STYNX? Are you kidding? There is a vast difference between these wanna-be hangers on who play the state fair and festival circuit, and Queen making one last hurrah. In my opinion, no opening act would suit fine. Bruce and the E-Streeters didn't need one, nor does McCartney. The boys in the big leagues don't need them. That said, a few shows with the likes of The Darkness here in the states would be great, as I would get to see both! The Darkness put on one hell of a rock show!! |

Now THAT is an excellent idea Haystacks!! I also like William's idea on the Foo Fighters. I'd prefer The Darkness though. Everyone...send your emails to Brian!!! |

Now that I have seen the show over last few weeks I want it all and I want it now in North America!! An opening act is not needed or desired. 2+ hours of Queen all you need. I plan on going to as many shows as budget, schedule, holiday time, and logistics allow. It's not easy following the band on tour here- hopefully it will make some regional sense- east coast leg, midwest leg, west/southwest leg. |
