Im gonna have my either sixth or seventh piano recital tonight :( Im nervous :D Im playing a song called 'Blumenlied'. Its classical. I wanna play Bohemian Rhapsody for a recital :D I have the piano music and I can learn it :D |
Mr.Jingles 03.05.2005 16:39 |
Why don't you play Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #3? So easy to play. ;-) |
Queenleaf 03.05.2005 16:52 |
I am getting Bo Rhap along with some other stuff on cd played by some symphony orchestra. Yay! of course I've heard the brass version as well. Good luck with your recital - the more you do, the less nervous you'll be at the next one. At least, that's how it was for me. |
_amadeus_ 03.05.2005 17:04 |
Lol :D Never heard of Piano Concerto #3. Looked for it on link but it wasn't there. Could play Gershwin, but I'd rather play more classical pieces. Gershwin is kinda contemperary :D |
Victoria 03.05.2005 17:19 |
Good luck tonight! Keep calm and collected and perform well! :D |
_amadeus_ 03.05.2005 18:07 |
Period of time. About as late as I will go with classical is... Aram Kachaktrian :D |
SergeantPepperDG 03.05.2005 18:25 |
Oh my god... I had an honors piano recital last Thursday, but I had a complete nervous breakdown right before I was supposed to go, and I didn't end up going. Oy. Good luck though! |
Lisser 04.05.2005 11:52 |
Good luck! |

<b><font color = "crimson">ThomasQuinn wrote: [QUOTE Well, I'm afraid your definition of classical music is not generally accepted. Classical music is still made today. Don't forget about the likes of John Cage, they are (rightfully) considered to be classical music, the experimental brach of which is called (new) music. By the way, Rachmaninov and Gershwin were in the same period.Well, John Cage is considered classical, but he really didn't make too much music. :D Unless, ofcourse, you consider sitting a piano and playing nothing for over 3 minutes is music :D Gershwin's music had lyrics in it, and the classical (what I consider it to be anyway) doesn't :D About the recital - I did great :D I was going last, because they always saved the best for last. I made one small mistake but covered it up well. I recieved a lot of compliments after :D I can also play that Ode To Joy (Beethoven's 9th Symphany) on the piano :D |
_amadeus_ 04.05.2005 16:58 |
Heres the link to the recital: link :) |
Wundzun 04.05.2005 17:54 |
Congrats!
I would love to hear your recital, but I can't download the file ("Acces denied"). Could you upload it to rapidshare, youshareit or something like that?
_amadeus_ wrote: Gershwin's music had lyrics in it, and the classical (what I consider it to be anyway) doesn't :DWhat do you mean? Are you joking? There are tons of classical pieces with lyrics (including "Ode to joy" which you mentioned), but I guess you know that. |
_amadeus_ 04.05.2005 19:46 |
Well, I guess your right (Lyrics). Don't know what I was thinkin' :D Anyway, heres the link: link :) |
SergeantPepperDG 04.05.2005 21:44 |
How long have you been playing? |

Wundzun 05.05.2005 03:22 |
Thank you! I really enjoyed your playing :) |
_amadeus_ 05.05.2005 09:20 |
Thanks :D I've been playin' for about... 4 years. Not sure exactly. I hope to play Bohemian Rhapsody for my next recital. I think it would be the Christmas recital. I never play Christmas songs for the Christmas recital O_o. If I do play Bohemian Rhapsody, I will be sure to post it :D |
_amadeus_ 05.05.2005 09:21 |
Thomas, I never heard of Phillip Glass :D |
_amadeus_ 05.05.2005 09:42 |
Anyone else have any compliments? Lol :D |
_amadeus_ 05.05.2005 18:36 |
:) |
Mr.Jingles 06.05.2005 08:32 |
Would your music teachers let you play 'Bohemian Rhapsody' or any other Queen song? I know some of them are very narrow minded when it comes to music and think that their students should only play Classical. |
_amadeus_ 06.05.2005 16:31 |
Yea, she would let me :D |

When I was younger, she'd usually choose pieces that she thought were good for me, but now, I mostly pick my own music. She still has recommendations for me though. A few months ago, I was actually working on Bohemian Rhapsody with her, but I sorta lost interest. Not that I don't like it! I just prefer PLAYING more classical-ish. Besides, my dad said he'd buy me a new piano when if I learned how to play all of Suite Bergamasque, since he has some emotional attachment to that piece. So I've been working pretty hard on that one (It's 4 movements, and I've completed one). Oooh... I want a Steinway grand! It would be a bit of a problem trying to get it in my house though. Not to mention the fact that the really professional ones probably cost up to $50,000 (just guessing). |

Ya :D I like Chopins Noctorne In C# Minor Wladlyslaw Szpilzman, The Pianist :D |
Wundzun 07.05.2005 00:29 |
His name is Wladyslaw Szpilman, actually. I don't want to pick on you, but I'm Polish and I don't like those kinds of misprints in Polish names. Are they really so difficult? |
_amadeus_ 06.06.2005 12:45 |
Well, I'm 14 and American. That should explain it :D |
