Hi guys...
I'm Juan Carlos Wiley, from Mexico, Queen fan since 1992, and I just wanted to make a post regarding a trip of a life time. A part of me always knew I was going to see Queen live sometime. I just hoped I would be old enough to make that decision and had enough money to make my dream come true.
If they had toured a few years earlier, it would have been impossible for me to attend, but now everything came into place. I WAS THERE... in Vienna, Munich, Prague and Leipzig, and had the time of my life.
It was really great. I almost went crazy by the time I heard that glorious 'A' Chord rumbling and shaking the foundations of the Wiener Stadthalle and there he was: Brian May. A dream come true for me.
I had a couple of Lost Opportunities to see them live. In Party in the Park 2002 (they didn't turn up, eventhough they said they would and they were on the bill) and then I missed Brian at the Crossroads Guitar Festival. I went to Dallas, saw a great show but no Brian.
Yet, there I was: standing inside the Stadhalle, without knowing where I would sleep that night, thinking I could miss Martin (who I was supposed to meet there but many things went wrong before)and I would be traveling by myself to the rest of the shows, thinking that I could get lost after the show and that many things could go wrong. But they didn't.
I had already met Attila and Andrew and other guys from the Hungarian Queen Fan Club (I visited Budapest the day before) and had a great time with them. In Vienna I met Martin (Mr. Scully) and other guys.
The following day I was traveling with Miklos, a really nice Hungarian guy and the now famous Michelle, from Norway (going to 25 Queen shows in this tour?) on our way to Munich.
In Munich I met other guys from Germany: Ray, Nico, Andi, etc. Really fun guys, John Deacon fans. One of them had this Roger T-Shirt that read "John's Drummer". I thought that was great!. I ran into them in the queue for the other 2 gigs and I even appear at the background in the news report in Leipzig when they interviewed Nico (my 15 seconds of fame and I'm in the background). Backstage in Munich I met Barbara (YourValentine) and her husband, with whom I stayed for some hours in Mainz before taking a train to Frankfurt and leaving for Mexico the following morning. Really nice persons. They let me play piano and offered me a really delicious spaguetti. Too bad I missed the Queen Fans gathering and the show in Frankfurt. That would have been even better!.
In Prague I met Brian, Roger and the rest of the band, except Paul Rodgers, although I would have loved to meet him. I got them to sign my tourbook and it was really great.
In Prague I also met Thorsten (knebworth), with whom I had spoken earlier. I had his number in my cell phone and he gave me Martin's number (which I had LOST) when I phoned him from Vienna so I could be in contact. He practically saved my trip. A really great guy. All of them, actually...
I want to thank you all. It was a great tour around Europe for me. 9 great days... because I saw Queen and met them but also because I met some great Queen fans aswell.
By the way, some of you guys didn't give me your email addresses!!. I was in a hurry so I gave you my address. I hope I recieve an email from all of you very soon. You know have a friend in Mexico and if any of you plan to go to see Queen in the south of the US, maybe I'll see you there.
Thanks for this great experience...
Sincerely,
Wiley

It was nice to have you, Juan Carlos. I am sure you will never forget this trip! Too bad it was so short, you would have liked Frankfurt. But you saw more shows than most of the European fans. I'll upload "your" TV show over the weekend for you, Thorsten is in it, too:) And some stuff from the concerts you saw, let's just keep in contact on ICQ.
Hi Juan, and the rest of the Queen Fans, I am also a Mexican Queen Fans planning to go to USA if the boys tour there. It will be great to have some nice time here as well as you have it in Europe.
Juan, yo vivo en Leon, quizá podamos estar en contacto. Saludos.
Cheers for everyone.
Rafael.
Hi,
It's me again, bringing the topic to life after reading some posts from the people I knew in Europe. I was wondering if any of the german (JD fans) or hungarian guys (Miklos, Attila, Andrew, etc) post here in Queenzone. Does anybody know for sure?
Hey Barbara!, thank you... I'm looking forward to seeing that small german news clip and show it to my friends, haha :).
Hope to see you sometime in the future...
Cheers (like some of you say) to all!
Wiley

Hello Juan Carlos, we just had a quick hello since I arrived by Barb's when you were leaving... Anyway, I truly appreciate fans like you, who just don't mind to travel a lot for their passion! You did a lot of efforts but you got something back: some great music shows and many new friends!
Looking forward to meet again sometime, around the world... maybe in your great and sunny country? :)
Cheeers!
The John Deacon Freundeskreis does not post on Queenzone but I have their email addresses. Miklos reads but rarely posts. I don't know the other Hungarian guys but Atilla does read the board occasionally.
