I mentioned something like this in the other subject in this forum, but no-one replied, so perhaps I'll have better luck here.
I know some people here would like an NTSC DVD version, so I would like to offer to make one, but the thing is that I cannot afford to send x copies all around the world.
If anything, I can probably make like 3 copies to send out to 3 people (preferably) across the world, who can in turn make multiple copies for people in their own and surrounding regions/areas/etc.
Would anyone here be willing to do that for me, once I would make the NTSC version?
Let me know here, please and thanks.
And I know this subject doesn't necessarily belong here, but I thought it'd be better if I put it here anyways, since it would involve some trading and distribution in one way or another...
My dad has serious issues with me leaving on the PC all day and night.
Trust me, if he gets mad, he GETS mad!
Otherwise, I WOULD torrent it, but given the above circumstance, it's not possible. I could even get in trouble if he finds out I've been going against his wishes by leaving my PC to download big files (especially multiple animes) all night. I've gotten away with it so far this weekend, but I can't continue to do that for long...
And besides, what would be the point of distributing another version to people that:
1) Don't have a DVD burner
2) Already have the PAL version
3) Already have the PAL version and don't have a DVD burner
...?
I don't think anyone would have to want to wait up to a whole week again to download and finish downloading the same product (essentially)
I think my plan would work out better in some ways by making the DVD files, burning a few copies, and then send it off to other people with DVD-burning capabilities, and thus create a 46664 DVD tree, so to speak.
I'm curious. What are his issues? Does he know that it is, in the long term, healthier for the pc for it to be left on for long periods of time as opposed to it being turned on and off all the time? I've had my pc turned on for about a month now. I've restarted it a few times, but it's never sat off for long.
Or are they other issues? He sounds like he needs to go to an anger management course :)

Anger management isn't something he needs, as he hardly gets angry at me these days.
And I've tried to bring up that long-term issue with him in the past, but since he ignores me regarding PC's (since I'm actually much smarter than him when it comes to certain issues with PC's) and refuses to acknowledge my knowledge on these things, I have to suffer because of it.
He just uses the excuse that it "wastes too much electricity", which is bullshit, cos I know it wastes lots of energy to load up and shut down computers.
I would like a copy and promises to burn 3 copies for the first three people to reply
either now or when I recieve the disc
I am in Australia and I will send anywhere in the world
thanks heaps for the offer...
if you would rather trade for it.??
let me know offline

Given that NTSC is a lower quality format than PAL, isn't this the equivalent of making mp3 out of wav?
Besides, most decent TVs can cope with both signal types.
Here in North America, especially, P_G, there aren't very many known TV sets that AREN'T imported that can actually decode both NTSC and PAL signals.
PAL/NTSC combo DVD players aren't common here either (I just found out just by trying it out that my DVD player in the living room will actually PLAY PAL DVD's, cos I tried out the 46664 DVD on it! The DVD player downstairs on the other hand won't play PAL DVD's, cos NTSC is the de facto standard for R1 discs)
Inu,
I'm here in the US (Northern California) and would be GLAD to take a copy and pass it around/share it with people over here.
I am a "nwbie" to the Queenzone, but not to trading.
Have been doing it for 24 years (collecting Van Halen/David Lee Roth).
I've also met "Villasfan" on these boards and must say, without a doubt is one accomodating person!
