I always tell you on QZ that Heart is my all time 2nd favorite band. I only just found out in the Q/Mojo Queen classic that Heart Opened for Queen At Milton Keynes, Live At The Bowl.
I love all their songs...but like with Queen, I am very much geared towards Heart's more meaningful songs like Dog & Butterfly, Love Alive.
I also love Bebe La Strange cause it kicks ass!!!!
Ann & Nancy Wilson kick major ass!!!!
Were any of you at Milton Keynes and if so, did you see Heart, and what songs did they do..were they good?
I wonder if you get paid for mentioning Q/mojo 20 times each day on Queenzone, arlene. One might think it's the only magazine you ever read in your life and you just can't stop to be amazed about all the words in it.
i thought heart were pretty lame
the teardrop exlodes were awesome
julian cope dodged every pie and bottle we threw at him - and i actually stayed and listened to them when everone left to go "up the hill" when queen arrived in the helicopter
- we ended up much nearer the front with the "gaps" queen's arrival created
the teardrops had soem bottle - and it was a shame because they split up almost immediately after this tour - but they were great
Joan jett was okay - but how far can you spread one hit in the UK - she even tried her new single "crimson and clover" and blank faces stared back at her
heart were (sorry to say) pretty bland - they weren't made for an english audience - and really didn't appear to try to hard
Didnt see them at MK, but I did see them at Edinburgh. I thought they were very good actually. From what I remember they mostly played stuff from The Dog And The Butterfly album. As for Teardrop Explodes, all I can say is thank god they never played coz I hated them.
Hey Arlene, Did you know that Howard Lesse is(or was) Paul's guitarist?
When I was a kid, my sister would always play their first two albums, Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen.
I liked it. Straight On and Dog & Butterfly are really good songs as well. They really were the first to prove the girls could rock as hard as the boys.(Well, besides Janis, but she was more soul/blues)
You could miss me though with their mid- eighties stuff.
Not very fond of that.

I have to agree that the only song I remember was "I Love Rock 'n' Roll", but that may have been due to the fact I travelled overnight and kipped in the car outside the stadium!

No...It just happens to be one of the VERY FEW publications in the press that regularly covers and says POSITIVE things about Queen....unlike Rolling Stone which has just as many topics and posts by members of QZ... (including ME, if you would read MY posts about Rolling Stone THERE)...
....because RS either does NOT cover Queen, or disses Queen.
Geez...excuse me, next time I'll be sure to PLEASE YOU...and I will mention RS, or Cream, or the NME, or The Guardian, or The Sunday Mail, (yes Your Valentine I read them all and MANY more press publications), all who have spent YEARS, even decades, either neglecting to cover Queen at all, or saying VERY NEGATIVE things about Queen. Guess THAT would make you happy. Well good for you.
