I'm trying to get live performances of Great King Rat and Hangman to add to my collection. Does anyone know which known bootleg has the best performances of the song, quality-wise? Thanks beforehand.
itll probably be from the works era, great king rat was preformed pretty rarely before the 80s i believe. (except on the uk leg of the queen II performances, and the japan leg of the SHA tour)
I've got a copy of Great King Rat from New Orleans 21.4.74, but the recording is only average. No idea which one would be the best...
Hangman, I think the Birmingham 73 show is supposed to be a good version. The Oxford show from the same year has a decent version as well.
I've got both Hangman and Great King Rat, full version takes from the bootleg "Sheer Japan Attack '75".
I find it personaly the best versions they ever preformed. The quality is very good as well.
There is above mentioned Great King Rat from "Sheer Japan Attack 1975", I have uploaded it a few days ago in another forum "request", so if you (or anybody else) has been already there, dont download this one - it is the same... link
In my opinion, the best version of Great king Rat is from "The young Nobles of Rock" Bootleg.
Also known as Live at the Budokan, Queen's last stop on their world Tour. The definite version of Hangman in my opinion would be Queen: Live at the Nippon Budokan April 1, 1976.
Even though Freddie's voice cracks abit at points in the song, it shows his voice progressing and tranforming into what it would prodominently sound during the news of the world tour.
