While we are on the subject of Georgio Moroder (from my Flashdance/Freddie/Roger topic),
With Moroder wrting most of the songs and soundtrack to Flashdance,
and Love Kills with and for Freddie from Metropolis,
Anyone heard the theme song to the 80's film "Cat People" "Putting Out Fire", sung by David Bowie and written by Moroder & Bowie (don't listen to the discofied/dance version that reeks), I mean the movie rock long version on the album. It rocks!!!! And has sounds of a panther roaring on the song! So F******g awesome!!!! I did have an extended single to that from the album that I wore out.
There are two versions of song "Cat people (putting out fire)".
First version is original soundtrack version from 1982, it's length is 6:45. There is also single edit (4:08) and USA promo single edit (3:18).
Second version is completely different; it is remake from the Bowie's 1983 album "Let's dance" (and from B-side of his "Let's dance" single). It's length is 5:10.
This second version was performed on Bowie's 1983 Serious Moonlight tour.
Personally, I don't like second version, I like the original soundtrack version.
There are also two remixes of that original version (but I never heard them): Australian 12" remix (9:20) and USA 12" remix (5:32).

NOPE never heard it
slow is on lets dance...
i like both versions
This ROCKS! "Cause It's been so long, and I've been putting out the fire..with gasoline...Been So Long...Putting out the fire, been so long, so long, so long...."!!!!
"See these eyes of Green!"
Love the way the soundtrack version starts off real low and soft...then you hear the panther roar, as Bowie yells...."Gasoline!"....then goes into the full song.
LOve this song!
So Cool!
Yeah cool movie too. Great "dream" sequence with red color filtering when Malcolm MacDowell (Paul)takes Nastassia Kinski (Irena) to the desert to see their er...family/relatives of black panthers sitting up in the giant tree.
And the end, when Irena is a panther in the cage, and her boyfriend played by John Heard pets her, and you hear David Bowie's song as Irena...ROARS!
