In the Q/Mojo Queen Classic magazine page 141 for Queen memorabilia, there is a Queen patch which distinctly says,
Queen A Night Of Summer Magic
Knebworth Park 16 August 1986
We all know Queen played their VERY last Concert as the Original 4 members on August 9, 1986.
Is this an error/mistake on the patch? or did Queen actually have another date booked at Knebworth Park on August 16, 1986 but cancelled it?
I've never seen this patch...so now I am wondering very much about this. I just noticed it today.
As far as I know Knebworth was booked because they couldn't get another Wembley. The famous quote from Gerry Stickells as he approached the band: "Can you guarantee it'll sell out?" "Yeah!" and he was like thinking "Famous last words..." but it DID sell out of course. So I think it's a mistake and only that one date was booked.
Anybody notice this patch in Q/Mojo? Does anyone know for CERTAIN if the patch is a mistake, or if there was in fact a SECOND Knebwoth date on the 16th of August 1986 that was cancelled?
You do realize that either way that patch is now WORTH alot for either reason.
There was only 1 gig planned, the tour was supposed to end in Spain, but put 1 more date in UK, I think Peter Freestone told me that Freddie didnt even want to do that last gig but did anyways.

YOU spoke to Peter Freestone...you're joshing right!
Anyway...that patch is probably worth alot, like the infamous American postage stamp with the airplane incorreclt printed upside down. It's woth over a million bucks now. Sure that patch isn't worth a million, but I'd bet it would fetch a pretty penny.
no..quite a few ppl here met him and talk to him, 2 of my good friend here met and talked to him,Mr scully met him a few times when peter lived in czech for a while and even had peter answer questions for us at QZ, and Riku met him at a bar and had a czech beer coaster signed from him for me.

You LUCKY. From what I have heard about Pheobe, he's a VERY nice man. Very genuine and happy to discuss happy memories of Freddie & Queen.
Weird though about that patch. Wonder if Mojo/Q caught that. I looked at it for 2 weeks now and only just noticed it last night. I was like, what the hell? Is there another Knebworth show that got cancelled, or did the people who made this patch fall asleep at the wheel. Guess they knodded off when they were stictching it. Lol!
Yeah Peter is a nice guy, a friend of mine, talk to him on the phone all the time, he is over in Australia / New Zealand at the moment, helping a Queen covers band, really really nice guy.
Kev x
Knebworth was allready an extra date on the tour right? Queen were asked to play Wembley for the third time that tour, but the band only agreed if the show would sell out once more. Anyway, the managment agreed that it would sell out, but the couldn't book Wembley for the third night, so they went for Knebworth Park. So Knebworth wasn't an option in the first place.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
[EDIT] Regor allready posted this[/EDIT]
Changing the subject to Pheobe: He is indeed a nice man. I was lucky to met him once and talk to him a bit. A real gentleman.
