Exactly the same setlist as in Leipzig (two verses of '39) but a MUCH better concert than in Leipzig; also a better audience. Having seen 6 concerts so far, I'm pretty sure the best concerts are those where there's at least one day off before the gig. Prague and Frannkfurt were the best gigs for me so far, Vienna being third. Looking forward to Budapest - Paul should be feeling better and the band will have two days off before the gig. Finally Dragon Attack in the setlist maybe? |

it was great !!! :))) 'love of my life' almost complete sung by the audience along with brian, 'i want it all' - great song live, brian was kinda pissed of before opera part in 'bohemian rhapsody' because of problems with his guitar i guess. great response to p.rogers songs. and while they played Last Horizon they used a disco ball so the whole hall was covered with stars, it was great, i´m really exhausted, voice is still in frankfurt, but i'm happy. great audience in frankfurt :) |

Great concert. Brian is still the best guitar player there is... Even Satriani and Eddie VH don't play as perfect as he does. I've seen no show before but I had great expectations (Because of the WWRY-Musical), but the "originals" are even 1000 per cent better! THX for a great evening! I want it all was my fav! |

well, i was a little bit disappointed...i don't know if i'm the only one who sees things like that: roger taylor played almost every song way too slow. all songs sounded like starting off with the second gear. compared with early queen live recordings it just didn't groove though he played a nice drum solo and sang very, very well (especially the "hammer to fall"-bridge). what i don't understand is the permanent absence of mr.rodgers during the 2nd third of the set...seems like he doesn't feel that comfortable with the queen-catalogue. this feeds my speculations that this tour is gonna be a one off. he's an excellent singer, but he differs too much from the original versions. then, before the middle part of BoRhap, it seemed like one of brians strings ripped. i left the show with mixed emotions. it was not bad at all but on the other hand, it was not as good as expected. the sound in the festhalle was as muddy as ever which is not the musicians fault. i couldn't distinguish danny mirandas bass at any time. |

I liked the Concert at the Festhalle in Frankfurt very much! The best part in my eyes was the middle part, after Paul left stage and Brian and Roger were singing themselves. These are the days of our lives sung by Roger, Love of my life, I´m in love with my car etc. An intersting slow version of Hammer to fall was also performed. And Freddie introducing BoRhap while Queen were playing live was a great idea and for me a very emotional moment. The concert was great and i appreciate Queen touring again. I never had the chance to go to a Queen concert. But in my eyes Paul Rodgers voice is not fitting Queen. He has a blues voice. The audience was great and i guess Brian noticed that.Since about hmm 17 years i am a Queen fan and finally a dream has partly come true. |

I enjoyed Paul's voice too, he is a great singer. And I really loved sound, no problems with bass or something... I've already been to strange locations with a shitty acoustic, but yesterday it was great |

...what i dislike is the stupid modified Queen emblem......looks like a turkey......strange..... ...the atmosphere was great......the audience was really great, i was singing as loud as i could........but there were very few young people.....i felt a bit emm...mature.....or simply old...;)......the merchandising products were a bit too expensive......30€ for a shirt is too much....... |
Binder 20.04.2005 14:16 |
The gig was great. the audience rocked and the band was very good. i stand near the catwalk and it was great to see roger, brian and paul from such a distance. the shirts were really expensive, but i cant resist and bought the tour-shirt ;-) |

....i could´nt resist either......i thought about the sweater, but it was too expensive as well with 60€... ......have i noticed right, that in the beginning Eminem was played introducing into Tie your mother down...?........that was strange...:D |

I also liked the concert, but I think they played a couple of songs too slow. During "The show must go on" I had the feeling Roger's going to fall asleep every moment. I didn't like the timing of the setlist, acoustic part too early, "I want to break free" & "Crazy little thing.." at the beginning instead of fast rock songs... I think they should play songs like "Dragon attack", "One vision", "Headlong", "Breakthru"," Now I'm here", "In the lap of the gods" in the first 1/4 and later play hits like "Radio gaga" "I want to break free" and the acoustic set. But anyway, the concert was nice, i loved Brian's guitar solo, "Last horizon" was also very nice. I had a few very emotional moments during "These are the days" and "Bohemian Rhapsody". "I want it all" and "Hammer to fall" and "I'm in love with my car" were also great. Roger sang great, Paul Rodgers is a brilliant performer but he left the stage for I guess an hour which was much too long. So I think if they change the setlist a bit the concert could be brilliant! Btw I LOVE Queen and thought the concert would be breathtaking, but it was just good/ some parts were great!! |

It was a great concert, but it wasn´t that important for me as this wasn´t the FIRST (which was Leipzig). Paul did much better, but still people sung instead of him. There was a man standing next to me and he was curious what Say It´s Not True was (if it was Queen) and then he asked me if the band was playing ´39, and when I said the band was, he got so excited!!! He told me it was his most loved song! Really, ´39 is a good idea. I understand they play greatest hits, because there are so many Queen lovers to such concert, who love the hits. And there are maybe about 200 completely dedicated fans (out of those 12 000 in Festhalle) - so it´s some kinda obvious concert cannot be only for them. We dedicated fans should be proud that after so many years Queen still can gain so many people who adore their music. And it´s a big plus for the band and Brian and Roger should be really proud of that. Brian fans and Roger fans (like me) would always want something more, but I always see it that way: that tour for me was the only opportunity to see Roger (Brian did come solo to where I live) and I am so grateful I had that opportunity. And that he sung I´m In Love With My Car was like a dream of my life... because I love the song. And that I could hear Say It´s Not True was also great, as I adore the song, and Roger in two more songs, I really cannot yearn for more :) |

Frankfurt was the best show for me after Brixton and Munich, the Festhalle was packed and the atmosphere was great. The whole band is much more relaxed now and a better unit. Again Paul Rodgers was good but nobody seemed to miss him when he was not there. Roger made us laugh with his : "you all should wear a condome, I am wearing one right now". It's an old joke but it was like a reply to the "shouldn't they all wear red ribbons " thread here on Queenzone. Brian was furious when he messed up the BoRhap solo, he stormed off the stage in rage. Maybe something was wrong with his guitar but I think he just lost concentration for a moment - it can happen. The reviews I saw of Frankfurt were all very positive so far, this show was praised as a rebirth of the Queen spirit. I am surprised how many newspaper writers here are Queen experts, they know what they are talking about and the reviews are all very substantial. |

Okay, we could not see this - we just saw him shouting and leaving the stage. (Too bad that Bielefeld lost - sorry about that) |
