After listening to the original version posted on Rien's site ( link ) does anyone know that actual history regarding The Parliaments version of (I Wanna) Testify and Rogers? Who decided that Roger should record it (assuming of course it was someone else's decision) or why did Roger record it?
Just curious btw....
Why would it be someone else's decision? People don't decide what songs Roger will record, he's not Britney Spears! I assume Roger just liked the track and wanted to do his own version of it. Though I hear that his version was completley different lyrically to the original..

I didnt actually say it was someone else's decision, I just assumed that it MIGHT be that's all.
Soz Mr Mercury I wasn't having a go. It just seemed like an odd question, Queen aren't exactly known for having someone telling them what songs to do, and Roger in particular gives the impression he wouldn't put up with anyone telling him what to do. Also IIRC Roger paid for the I Wanna Testify single out of his own pocket, so he would presumably have had complete control over the project.
