I've been to every single book store in Long Island NY where they have magazine imports, but I still haven't been able to find the Q/Mojo Special Edition with Queen.
Has anyone in the United States been able to get it?
I got one at St. Mark's Bookstore, in the East Village, in Manhattan. Several weeks ago, though. You might want to phone before trekking into the city.
WE live in the south and I can't find the magzines here either. Its really starting to get frustrating. Oh well I'am sure we'll get them sooner or later.
I ALREADY bought my edition/magazine almost 2 weeks ago at Maryland's INDEPENDENT record store, Record & Tape Traders.
But I want to check on Queen's progress, here in the USA, so I was In Tower Records & Borders & Barnes & Noble yesterday and today...and they STILL don't have it.
Please everyone around the USA, go to or call your state's INDEPENDENT book stores and record stores to buy it..as they seem to be carrying it.
For anybody who lives in Maryland & Delaware, I
JUST went again to and JUST came back from Record & Tape Traders...they are STILL carrying and openly displaying the Mojo (it's Mojo in the USA not Q just so all you in the USA know)...
the Mojo Queen Classic Editon $13.00 retail.
I had a long talk with the Manager of BOTH Record & Tape Traders today and with the periodicals Manager of Tower Records in Rockville on Sunday and I spoke with BOTH Managers about the LACK of availabilty of this in all the major record/music/book store chains Nationwide...even the ones that carry the UK music publications.
We have our own theories...which I will just say...we are thinking that certain top brass marketing people, powers that be at Q/Mojo, and at the United States record/book/music retail stores here in the USA...STUPIDLY think that there is not enough demand or a market for this Queen issue, so they are not carrying it, or putting out on display if they even get it in.
So, USA Queen fans...please go to your major retail store..and SAY SOMETHING, any body who knows anything about the business of business & marketing can tell you that when customers start ASKING about a product...powers that be REALIZE there IS a market for it, and start carrying it.
This is ALSO good for Queen if they are to tour the United States.
If people here in the USA start asking for Queen merchandise (CD's etc), magazines/press covering Queen in stores...managers give FEEDBACK to their distributors...(ie record companies, music press companies, etc.) It's called supply and demand.
