Another possibility is to download a mp3 converter.
DON'T download an MP3 converter! Your eardrums deserve better!
I should have said good converter cus (how many times do I have to say it? *SIGH*) you don't notice the difference if you do it right...

No, it is definitely a big deal. We do not need people polluting the trade pool with mp3s, period. Flac is lossless, and mp3 is not. If you like mp3s, then fine. But don't trade them as audio cds, or whatever other format. Once they've been an mp3, they're a fraction of the quality. End of story.
Who trades mp3 sourced material and labels it as lossless? Why should those that enjoy the convenience of Mp3's be forced to download flac? Sounds a bit like big brother to me.
Besides, it should not be too hard to e-mail small clips of songs before they are traded to assure they are lossless and not mp3 sourced.
