I HATE starting new topics... Anyhow, I cannot be arsed to look if this has been asked before, and I believe it has not... so here we go: Who is QP? Is it Brian, John and Roger? Or are there more people included? Or do they actually not belong to QP??? If so, who is sitting on the throne of QP? |
Benn 13.04.2005 10:39 |
QPL is the band's production company. Directors being (I believe) Brian, Roger, John, Jim and a representative of Freddie's estate - I believe that is also Jim. |
Scirocco1977 13.04.2005 11:18 |
Thanks a lot... but since you wrote "I believe": How certain is this? 90%? I would have thought the same but I forgot Jim... But basically QPL is the four of them (plus Freddie's soul) |
Benn 13.04.2005 11:54 |
No, a representative of Freddie's estate - Freddies's soul would be unable to contribute to any business decisions. Actually, it might be able to make a few "better" decisions that allowing the use of Queen material for Toyah Wilcox to royally f*ck up...... |
Scirocco1977 13.04.2005 13:02 |
So basically, whenever we insult QP, we insult Roger and Brian and John and Jim, am I right? |
Serry... 13.04.2005 15:41 |
Jim is not a director there. And yes John is still 'working' there and signs documents (I've seen them). Check this for details: link |
Benn 14.04.2005 11:38 |
Jim is on the Board Of Directors of QPL as Freddie's representative. |

Does Mary Austin not act on behalf of Freddies estate? |
doremi 16.04.2005 16:23 |
This is from the article/interview with Mary Austin, "Mercury Left Me His Millions" "Mary is also a trustee of the Aids foundation set up in Freddie's name. The Pheonix Trust, based in Montruex, Switzerland, where Queen have their own recording studios." I don't know about her role in terms of Freddie's estate. I do think she is still part of Freddie's music publishing company (which administers the royalties, licensing, and legalities of Freddie's music), which Freddie employed her in when he was still living. Also from the same article. "As another way of keeping her close, Freddie created a job for her, making her company secretary to the music and publishing businesses he ran from his home." |
Serry... 16.04.2005 17:31 |
She's a company secretary at Mercury Songs Ltd and Mightytape Ltd (another Freddie's company). Just as I wrote above - check this for details: link |

Hey Sergey: I went on your website...nice!!!! But how come it say Jim Beach is a Director at Goose Productions, Ltd.,(formerly Mercury Songs Ltd, formerly Pond Productions Ltd.,) Freddie's Music Publishing Company? I still don't think that's accurate. You said you have the financial statements..are those up to date to 2004-2005...what do THEY say, for Freddie's Music Publishing Company...or can we find out who ACTUALLY is the Trustee/Legal Representative for his estate? Freddie Mercury · Goose Productions Ltd - previously Mercury Songs Ltd until 31/12/78 - previously Marlhouse Productions Ltd until 31/12/76 (a) · Mercury Songs Ltd - previously Pond Productions Ltd until 31/12/78 (b) (directors: Jim Beach, John Libson, Amin Saleh) - for Freddie's solo recordings, Mary Austin is a company secretary there · Mightytape Ltd (director: Jim Beach) - Mary Austin is a company secretary there |

About Mercury Songs and Mightytape - yes, his name mentioned in these statements (for 2003 year) as a director and his sign is there. Maybe because he's not a manager to Freddie (since Fred is dead) it's possible for being a director to Freddie's companies... I don't know! |

Anyway thanks for your thoughts about this my article and I've mentioned that forgot to write who was director at Goose, so page is updated and again thanks! |

I'm sure that on a letter I had from Brian on QPL headed paper many years ago that had the directors listed on the footer, and Jim Beach was named as one of them, cos i remember thinking it strange at the time. I'll have to try to find the letter as my memory may be playing tricks on me. |

link Check out the above link. Interesting that John resigned as a director of Queen Touring Ltd in June 2012. Do you think this is a protest vote at the link up with Adam Lambert? The timing would certainly tie in with that. Alternatively it may be that 'Queen' will no longer tour again and so he no longer needs to be a director? |

Could have been a pure business decision, no way the recent tour for Queen Touring Ltd made a profit. John is no longer active, so what is the point of staying active in Queen Touring Ltd. |

He has finally drawn a line under that, I always hoped he might come back while he was a director of Queen Touring. Of course he doesnt have to be a director to play live with them, but it does have an air of finality to it. BTW are you the one who sent a letter to Rhythum mag re the Roger Taylor feature asking about Josh? |
