Sorry if this has been asked before..but does Brian's son Jimmy play guitar professionally? Has he played professionally on records or live with Brian?
Does Jimmy have his own band? Does he have any recordings?
Arlene,
On Jimmy May's website he addresses that question....maybe you haven't been to his website??
Jimmy has said that "Dad has tried to show me some stuff, but either I wasn't that interested, or he's not a good teacher (laughs)...."really I just putter around with it, I have no desire to play music seriously".
Read what Jimmy says about Freddie on his website. What an incredibly lovely thing to say about Freddie. Sounds too, like Freddie was a true good and wonderful person (outside the celebrity and rock star...kind, sweet, and responsible around children and to Jimmy).
Q-"Did you know Freddie Mercury and what was he like?"
Jimmy May "Yes, I did. My experience of Freddie was of a great and energetic entertainer. But he was more of a man than many may know. Freddie would party like the best of them, but he would always come down hard on anyone who swore or was inappropriate in front of children. I respected him for his moral code. I remember him as a great man."

I also read in the Mary Austin Interview she did about Freddie, that he was very good to her children. Here's a quote about Freddie in her interview "Mercury Left Me His Millions" by journalist David Wigg
Quote:
"Freddie had been as thrilled as her about the arrival of her first son and used to visit her in hospital. He taught the little boy to say his first words, 'tractor' and 'guitar'.
Now Freddie's generosity has allowed Mary to educate both her sons privately. 'In some ways, I think there was definitely a part of Freddie that would have liked a family life, a happy home and children,' she says."
and just to add something from Kashmira:
"We used to celebrate our kids' birthdays at Freddie's. He'd always have a massive cake or Easter egg for them. He never had any kids of his own so I guess he liked the novelty, but I think he would have liked to have seen our children grow up.'
Would Mercury have been a good dad? Kashmira and Roger laugh. 'No, I don't think so at all,' says Kashmira. 'He was very good at spoiling you, but not so good when it came to laying-down the law.'
