Fat Lizzy 11.04.2005 19:03 |
I don't have any flac version left to seed to be honest, converted everything to 192, some 256 kbps mp3. |
nibznik 11.04.2005 21:26 |
oh man someone to lift the load, you guys wanna set up a schedule, like i do it one week, and then rev or k.y.a. the next, and then whoever left the last week, and then for the fourth week of the month, each can upload a second concert, or its just a lax week? IMO, its much easier because i wanna share queen, but its just such a hassle to upload and once or twice a month is easy |
ficodr 11.04.2005 23:29 |
Thank You KYA and Rev! I'm glad to download those bootlegs you've uploaded! they're awesome! I would want to have philadephia 1977 in order to hear one of the very first live versions of "we are the champions"... on of my favorites live songs! byee! |
Fat Lizzy 12.04.2005 11:26 |
You have to thank Thijs aka The_Hero too, he gave me most of my bootlegs :D |

One thing that says on the site is that Tie Your Mother Down don't exist from the gig in Leiden 11.7.1986, but it does exist, I have even talked to the webmaster and he said that it does exist, but he haven't updated that thing. |

onevsion 13.04.2005 07:04 |
perhaps it's better not to use the mp3 format. There are lossles formats (FLAC, APE) wich are much better i think. But, hey.. i'm not complaining it's just a suggestion.. it's great that you share your collection with us!! |
Fat Lizzy 13.04.2005 09:23 |
Why would you convert mp3 to flac or ape? The "best possible" quality would be lost anyway then. Besides why uploading 700mb if you can do it in 170mb or something like that, I don't notice the differnce between a flac and a GOOD converted mp3 file. |

It's great that you're prepared to share all that Queen material. Thank You!! Whatever you upload is fine by me, but I would suggest sharing the boots with the best sound quality first. |

Are these mp3-sourced? Otherwise they are crap. Why do you, Rev and KYA, don't understand: Marquee 1972 is FAKE!!! Those are songs from Oxford 1973 (part of the concert, part of the soundcheck). The real recording is in hands of QueenProductions. But go on with fooling people if you guys want to... |

tilomagnet wrote: It´s really sad to see all those concerts end up here as mp3s.too damn right! for rev: Convert your recordings (mothertapes or first gen copies) to flac and to mp3 and compare them: you WILL hear the difference! MP3 boots suck. Every bit of quality that can be saved must be saved. Most bootlegs need those tiny pieces of extra quality very very much... but.. hey rev if mp3 is your thing, than that's fine for me. No offence, really! I just don't like mp3. Not for bootlegs anyway. |
Fat Lizzy 13.04.2005 19:17 |
I compare the flac and mp3 files every single time i convert a flac file, and I'm putting all of my time in editing and making the best conversion possible... I really don't notice the difference then. |

Mp3 players are common in car stereos and home stereos. There is almost no reason to convert an mp3 file to wave format. There also seams to be an overblown fear that some seedy traders MIGHT try to pass off mp3 files as lossless. I have an idea. Maybe alcohol should be prohibited again (another Prohibition) because of the carnage on the highways caused by drunk drivers. Is that overreacting? Of course it is ... and trading of mp3's should also not be discontinued because there might be a few suspect traders. Besides, a small sample of the traded item can be e-mailed to the worried trader to confirm that the item is lossless and not mp3 sourced. |

Rip Van Winkle wrote: There also seams to be an overblown fear that some seedy traders MIGHT try to pass off mp3 files as lossless. That´s not an overblown fear. I have been trading live music for a long time (I trade other artists as well, not only Queen) and I know there is a serous pollution of mp3 sourced audios in many trading scenes. I guess they come mostly from people who dled shows from p2ps, then reconverted them and put them in trading pool. Besides, a small sample of the traded item can be e-mailed to the worried trader to confirm that the item is lossless and not mp3 sourced. That´s not the problem IMO. If a show is mp3 sourced that´s very easy to find out, just open the file in a spectrum analyzer. People who have an mp3 sourced show should mark them as such or stop trading them. |

Repeat offenders who repeatedly try to pass off mp3 sourced material as lossless can then be blacklisted by the trading community. This should help clean up some of the pollution and eliminate many of the trading weasels. This way everybody wins, and the common mp3 downloader is not punished. |
