I wasnt into anime at all until I stayed a friend's house for a week who was quite into them.....a couple I liked were Hellsing (wicked vampire stuff!) and Bastard (kinda of a bit campy action/adventure swords & sorcery type thing.....and alot of the characters and other things are named after 80s hard rock and metal artists....no Queen references tho! heh)
well, I havent seen a whole hell of a lot of that kinda stuff, anyway......I could mention a few more things, but I must remember there are under-aged sorts out there reading this.......lol

Anything that comes from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghilbi is always good.
Ghilbi is like the Japanese Pixar because they've never put out a crappy movie. In fact, Pixar's top producers like John Lasseter have claimed that they've been highly influenced by Ghilbi and Miyazaki because they understand the importance of making movies with great storylines, and not just doing some cool animation with a lame story for the sake of just making money.
