Drop reach i want to break free a kind of magic hammer to fall (only the slow version) last horizon these are the days of our lives Radio ga ga (backing track bit) Add stone cold crazy breakthru headlong i was born to love you was it all worth it another one bites the dust i go crazy innuendo ride the wild wind hitman and yes i know adding these songs will probably kill roger lol |
Morticiaskeeper 07.04.2005 15:20 |
Hammer to Fall worked well. Days of our lives worked well. Who would sing I was Born and Stone Cold Crazy? Not really PR vocals. AOBTD wasn't really a favourite of Brian & Roger, bit to disco & against the Queen tide. Although it's one of the ultimate bass lines (can you guess I play bass?) |
Gunpowder Gelatine 08.04.2005 03:38 |
I think they should add a few more of Freddie's songs. Then again, it'll probably upset the people who are so against the tour and think the name died with him... |
Dany Mercury 08.04.2005 09:25 |
I think Brian should drop his guitar solo. Ace Frehley from Kiss, (well now Tommy Thayer) did that so Kiss could play more songs. I think Queen should do that too and perhaps, finish with a live version of "God Save The Queen" so that Brian would have a solo in the show. You know, elevated in the air so that could remind us of the Buckingham Palace performance. "Reachin' Out" should be left out, "Last Horizon", "Little Bit Of Love", "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "I'm In Love With My Car" too. "Tie Your Mother Down", "Hammer To Fall" (Rock, No Slow) and "Headlong" should be the first to be played. They all go together well. Then, I'd put "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" (There has to be Paul Songs...), "Under Pressure", "A Kind Of Magic" (because it's one of Roger's best tunes.), "Another One Bites The Dust" (they played it in Amsterdam, so why not in the tour ?) and "I Want To Break Free" because there has to be John songs. 2 isn't enough but better than nothing at all. Then, right away would be "These Are The Days Of Our Lives" and "The Show Must Go On". The only time they performed "Innuendo", it wasn't a good performance with Robert Plant so I think they should try it again after "The Show Must Go On". Like at Freddie's Tribute, they should play "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". Then, "Love Of My Life" sung by Brian. Then, maybe Bad Company's "Joe Fabulous" as it is a good song, really. Right after that, "Feel Like Makin' Love". "Somebody To Love" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" should be next. Roger would then sing "Radio Ga Ga". "Too Much Love Will Kill You" and "No One But You" are must since "Too Much Love" was a gift to Freddie in 1992 and "No One But You" was written for him. "Mother Love" would be the ultimate tribute after that and should be sung by Freddie on screen and Brian. The Encore should be "All Right Now", "We Will Rock You", "We Are The Champions" and "God Save The Queen". So that would give 1) Tie Your Mother Down 2) Hammer To Fall 3) Headlong 4) Can't Get Enough Of Your Love 5) Under Pressure 6) A Kind Of Magic 7) Another One Bites The Dust 8) I Want To Break Free 9) These Are The Days Of Our Lives 10) The Show Must Go On 11) Innuendo 12) Crazy Little Thing Called Love 13) Love Of My Life 14) Joe Fabulous 15) Feel Like Makin' Love 16) Somebody To Love 17) Bohemian Rhapsody 18) Radio Ga Ga 19) Too Much Love Will Kill You 20) No One But You 21) Mother Love Encore ---------- 22) All Right Now 23) We Will Rock You 24) We Are The Champions 25) God Save The Queen I think that would be great. Not too typical for songs like "Joe Fabulous", "Innuendo", "Mother Love" and some others. They should at least try it but I'm really afraid Paul wouldn't sing "Somebody To Love" right. At least, not like Freddie or George Michael. Still could be interesting. |
Scirocco1977 08.04.2005 09:34 |
IT'll be a bit tricky to get video material with Freddie singing Mother Love... you know he being dead and all... But apart from that a nice setlist... would get a ticket for that for sure ;) |
Dany Mercury 08.04.2005 09:44 |
No, not singing "Mother Love" but just images of Freddie, like a tribute to him like it was done for the video of "The Show Must Go On" you know ? Queen would be playing "Mother Love" with Freddie's vocals and there would be images of him on the screen. Freddie and Queen at their best, of course. :P But let's look at it, I've never seen the worst of Freddie. Even dying, he gave his all. Freddie was either good, great or perfect. I think this would be great. |
Scirocco1977 08.04.2005 09:48 |
(I think I knew what you meant, but I am sick of all those DoRo films trying to copy and paste Fred into songs making it look like he sings it... We've seen most of that footage by now...) If you can persuade Rog, Paul and Brian to go with your setlist write me a mail! ;) |
jona1 08.04.2005 09:55 |
yes i agree with brian dropping his solo or cutting it down a bit. your first four tunes would be good way to start off. i'd have start off 1,Tie your mother down 2,Hammer to fall 3,The miracle 4,Feel like making love 5,Under pressure 6,i go crazy 7,Fat bottomed girls 8,You're my best friend 9,Crazy little thing called love 10,Can't get enough of your love 11,I want it all 12,Brians solo 13,Now i am here Break 14,Was it all worth it or One vision 15,Love of my life 16,Seagull 17,Days of our lives 18,Headlong 19,Breakthru 20,i'm in love with my car 21,Bo Rap 22,Radio ga ga 23,Innuendo 24,All right now 25,The show must go on 26,We will rock you 27,We are the champions 28,God save the queen what you think |
Dany Mercury 08.04.2005 09:56 |
I wrote almost the exact same list on the Paul Rodgers website but as I can see, they probably never read it. Of course, sometimes I'm getting tired of the DoRo films but they are quite good and let's look at it, if Freddie doesn't sing it, I don't want Paul to ruin this magnificent tune ! :P loll He already ruined some songs in Fancourt so I don't want that to happen again. At least, he'll never get to touch to "Bohemian Rhapsody". Still, I wrote them 3 times and I thought Brian answered most letters. Sometimes, he answers letters that say "Thank you Bri, you're great...etc" and I wrote him and asked him if I could have his permission to use his name and Queen names in my novel, titled "Red Special : The Resurrection" and he never answered. I thought my letter was important. I know they can't answer each and every letter but still, he could answer the most important ones. Thank you if you like my setlist. Maybe I'd add "I Want It All" after "Headlong" too. I always felt that those 4 songs (Tie/Hammer/Headlong/Want) were perfectly fit for each other. |
Daburcor? 08.04.2005 10:01 |
No way should they EVER drop These Are The Days Of Our Lives! |
Dany Mercury 08.04.2005 10:02 |
Ah, of course "Breakthru" could be something great to hear ! I think I prefer the Queen from 1984 to 1995 instead of 1973-1982 so that's why most of the new songs I added were from the period. Most of yours, like "Fat Bottomed Girls" (Which I removed) and "You're My Best Friend" are from th "old era". But that would surprise me too if they played "You're My Best Friend" and I would like it. I was a bit tired of hearing "Now I'm Here" because Brian played it at every single concert, or so, eversince it was written. Adding "Last Horizon" in a Queen concert was a good thing, but I prefer Brian not doing any solos like he's used to and adding more songs. But that could be interesting too. More interesting would be that they took your setlist, my setlist, and setlists from other people and make like "one night concerts". Always a different setlist. I'd love that ! |
dsanchez71 08.04.2005 10:04 |
I watched Madrid & Barcelona shows, and I missed "Innuendo". All of us have our favourites, but I hope you all agree that this song must be mandatory: recent, succesful and a really brilliant one. David |
Mercury-Alive 08.04.2005 10:54 |
My favourite tracklisting is: (not the most favourite, but a tracklisting which could be possible) - A beautiful day (freddie voice; intro) - Tie you mother down - I want it all - Headlong - Can't get enough of your love - Ride the wilde wind - Days of our lives - Hammer to fall - Princes of the universe - Love of my life - Las palabras de amor (accoustic) - (Free bad company song) - The miracle - The show must go on - I want to break free - (Free bad company song) - Breakthru - One vision - Keep youself alive - Heaven for everyone - Scandal - (free bad company song) - Bohrhap - Innuendo - Don't stop me now - All right now - We will rock you - We are the champions Maybe they could make a medley of the album the miracle and innuendo. |
Dany Mercury 08.04.2005 11:17 |
Your setlist is good but I don't think i woudl ever perform the songs in tha order. "It's A Beautiful Day" it a great intro. They did that for the "Ballet For life" in 1997 too. "One Vision" should start the show if the song would be inserted in there. The Magic Tour was my favorite and "One Vision" was the perfect choice for an opening. It doesn't really fit anywhere else. "Don't Stop Me Now" is a good song, but I don't think that performing this song after "Bohemian Rhapsody' is good. I always thought "Tie Your Mother Down" and "Sheer Heart Attack" weren't at the right place after "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the 70's and early 80s. I think the best song to be played after "Bohemian Rhapsody" has always been something like "Hammer To Fall" or "Radio Ga Ga". "Too Much Love" would be even better I think. Rock songs, unplugged songs, mid-tempo songs, Bohemian (which doesn't fit in any category), the sad songs and the grande finale, the "majestic songs" as I call them. Put in a different order, that would be a great show but put in that way, it's a good show. That means it's a good list anyway ! :P It's only my opinion... Any show, any venue, any lead singer, any setlist, we're lucky to have Queen again. :P |

I think Brians solo should be kept, as well as Last Horizon and Hammer To Fall slow. But I think they should get rid to Break Free and LOML. Songs like Headlong, Ride The Wild Wind and No-one But You should be added. |
Dany Mercury 08.04.2005 11:37 |
I think Brian's solo lasts way too long so Queen plays less songs but I think that Brian does that so that Paul and Roger, especially Roger, take a rest. But get rid of "I Want To Break Free" ? No...it's a John song and playing no Freddie or John songs wouldn't be like a Queen show I think. A Brian-Roger-Paul show would attract me, but much less. And besides that, the crowd LOVES that one so much, that they sing louder than Paul. And about "Love Of My Life", I don't think it's a good idea since it is the song that Freddie used to sing with the crowd and sometimes, even the crowd sang alone. And besides that, I find it really emotional that 14 years after his death, that Brian May stills introduces the song like he's always done, as "we're doing this one for Freddie, alright ?" Brian loved, and still loves Freddie Mercury. I think that Brian feels Freddie's presence when he sings this one. Maybe he feels Freddie's helping him sing this one. May sound silly to many, but I think that must be the way Brian sees it. These 2 songs are important parts of the show as well as Brian's solo I know, but that part's too long. But an original idea is that Paul Rodgers could sing "Under Pressure" with Freddie Mercury on screen. Paul would sing David Bowie's vocals. That could work. Dan. |
jona1 08.04.2005 13:26 |
supose you could cut the intro to one vision and play it as the end part of a melody but play the full song that would be good. or play it at the end of brians solo with the intro cut off. |
Hankster 08.04.2005 15:34 |
Drop: track13/Emenem Reachin Out IWTBF Seagull Last Horizon Add: Innuendo (taped as intro, or played live .. I don't really care) One Vision Now I'm Here Headlong Heaven For Everyone |
Lord Blackadder 09.04.2005 09:43 |
You're all bloody mad. Fat Bottomed Girls is one of the highlights. As is I'm In Love With My Car and These Are The Days Of Our Lives. And they cannot drop IWTBF. The audience love it. They sing basically the whole song instead of Paul. I would drop A Kind Of Magic because I dont think it suits Paul, Reachin' Out, Last Horizon and that hour long (seemingly) Track 13 from MIH. My realistic Setlist would be - Its A Beautiful Day (tape) - Tie Your Mother Down (Paul on vocals) - Can't Get Enough Of Your Love (Paul on vocals) - I Want It All (Paul and Brian on vocals) - I Want To Break Free (Paul/Crowd on vocals) - Little Bit Of Love (Paul on vocals) - Fat Bottomed Girls (Paul on vocals) - Spread Your Wings (Paul on vocals. Not likely but I think it would suit Pauls voice) - Seagull (Paul on vocals) - '39 (Brian on vocals. With bass and drum like olden days. Sounds better!) - Love Of My Life (Crowd On Vocals!!) - Guitar Solo (abit shorter though) - Now Im Here (Paul on vocals) - Hammer To Fall (fast) (Paul on vocals) - These Are The Days Of Our Lives (Roger on vocals) - Radio Ga Ga (Roger on vocals, but please hire a drummer for the song. PLEASE!) - Its Late {abit unrealistic but there you go} (Paul on vocals) - Under Pressure (Freddie and Paul on vocals) - I'm In Love With My Car (Roger on vocals) - Feel Like Makin' Love (Paul on vocals) - Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Paul on vocals) - Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddie and Paul on vocals) - The Show Must Go On (Paul on vocals) - Sheer Heart Attack (Paul on vocals) - All Right Now (Paul on vocals) - We Will Rock You (Paul on vocals) - We Are The Champions (Paul on vocals) - God Save The Queen |

I'm really looking forward to hearing Brian's solos live - if they get cut by the time I get to the Wembley show I'm going to blame you lot! |
Lord Blackadder 11.04.2005 11:59 |
I doubt they will be cut. He enjoys playing them and alot of people enjoy hearing them. I just think he could do it in 5 or 6 mins rather than 15. But thats just me. |

Jona1, you're really crazy if you think they should drop hits like break free, magic, days and gaga. That songs are just fantastic! But i agree with you they should add breakthru, headlong and innuendo |

I've never had any time for Brian's solo. If he'd like to do a guitar solo, how about an instrumental of Keep Yourself Alive running straight into Liar (and I'm sure the fans would sing along!) |
