About bloody time. |
Markman38 05.04.2005 08:26 |
Grin, I can't wait. I was just wondering if the load up 2 sonngs after each show, and we have 25 dates then we would have 50 songs at the end of the tour. WOW that would be great :-). Now they can start playing It's late, White Queen, Father to Son, The Night comes Down etc after all...... |
PieterMC 05.04.2005 08:53 |
It's a shame that it will not be complete concerts and at 99p a track could become rather expensive if you were to purchase all the tracks they release. |
deleted user 05.04.2005 09:01 |
Hopefully they won't give us duplicates, then maybe we will have a Live Killers-esque collection from the tour. That is if the tracks are ever put up. |

PieterMC wrote: It's a shame that it will not be complete concerts and at 99p a track could become rather expensive if you were to purchase all the tracks they release.Definitely- probably around £50........ |

It yet again just seems like another half arsed attempt at doing something which could have been great. |
Pim Derks 05.04.2005 09:35 |
So, who is going to buy them and then put them on their own webserver ? :D |
hcrvelin 05.04.2005 10:22 |
I'm on vacation right now, but when back (3 weeks) I plan to get CD and buy those tracks :) |
FILIPETSA 05.04.2005 10:43 |
Lets have these ASAP ! I cant wait to hear them in good quality sound ! |
depdawg 05.04.2005 14:06 |
what happened to " were not doing this for the money" what a rip off |

So, I buy WMA-files for about 2 bucks a pop, then I am supposed to buy an official CD-R for another 10 bucks. Does this make sense to anyone? Forget the fact that they are offering only a few songs, why buy a lossy file to put on a CD-r? |
miffomojen 05.04.2005 14:30 |

SO, let's give em the feedback - get them onto WAV or FLAC before they fuck this up too.. |
agneepath! 11994 05.04.2005 16:48 |
pointless. Sometimes you wonder why they bother. No wonder people can get away with selling 2/3 of a gig on ebay for £20 + |

Penetration_Guru wrote: SO, let's give em the feedback - get them onto WAV or FLAC before they fuck this up too..They won't since they can't protect them. 192kB/s that's what we'll get:S |
Roger's Beard 05.04.2005 20:06 |
WHOA!!!! What do you mean 99p per track? Where the heck does it say that on the Queen site? I've paid my money in good faith that when the tracks become available I can download them. NOT be asked to then pay 99p a track on top! late addition to this reply: Okay. I've now been to the shop and re-read what it says and found the word "purchased" amongst all the text. I think it should be made MUCH CLEARER to folks that tracks have to be purchased seperately as I know other people who have purchsed the CD at that ridiculous price thinking they'd get a cd's worth of "free" downloads. If I'm buying the songs seperately, I want a refund on the CD and I'll use my own!!!! Jeez, that VERY sly of them. |
Markman38 06.04.2005 03:49 |
OKAY it's not very often I'm getting pissed off but now I'm. I bought the special CD so I thought for that price I can buy a a good live CD of this tour with the official downloads. BUt still no downloads(I wonder how much pro-tools they need to make it listenable) but even more so I seem to have to pay for the downloads. I don''t care if the proceeds are going to the phoenix trust or what so ever, this was not told at the beginning of this project. So I don't want the CD anymore, please them stick it to place where the sun don't shines. |
DragonOnMyBack 06.04.2005 06:04 |
I agree it would be excellent to get the whole of every concert, but at least we are getting something. They did not have to do it at all. There is too much negativity on these pages :-) If they release at least 1 version of every track played over the course of the tour then it could make a really cool album. A bit like Live Killers. Or even two albums if they continue to release 2 tracks per show. And I don't mind paying the money to charity. Did you really expect them to give the tracks away for free. All the news items etc. I have seen said you would have to purchase them. Again you don't have to buy any of them, let alone all. I think many fans will be happy to have the opportunity to get a record of the Tour oficially. When bootlegs come along then I am sure many people will buy / trade them as well. You can't stop that even by releasing the whole concerts but at least we will have an offical good quality record of the Tour available. I can't see them releasing a full album to buy in the shops although we might well see a DVD at some point. Be positive and happy :-) Chill ..... |

I haven't seen such a stereotypical case of Stepfordism on this board for months:) |
S@turn 06.04.2005 06:52 |
Funny, it seems some people are surprised by the QOL "moves" with this... And it is so predictable that it should go this way, why is anyone wondering? And it is so cool to ask others to buy this and then download them ourselves for free huh? Long live internet Long live free share of music! Long Live Brian and Roger! |
DragonOnMyBack 06.04.2005 07:17 |
Stepfordism Rules!!!! ;-) We are going to have unoffical bootlegs and we are going to have the offical downloads. People can pay their money (or not) and take their choice. That was all I was trying to say. We are not going to get every concert released officially in full. You can complain but it ain't going to happen so you may as well pick one of the other options above. Either way Stay Happy and don't stress yourself about things that you can't change. Sponsered by: glad.com : Bringing Happiness to the Web :-) |
YourValentine 06.04.2005 08:58 |
Yes, you are right - I am not complaining. I am also not buying a substandard product for ridiculous money and the "but, oh - we donate it all" disgusts me even more. I rely on my fellow fans who will provide for amateur recordings who may not be perfect but made with passion and shared for free. |
krantzet80 06.04.2005 10:01 |
I just downloaded the sound files from qol. And I have to say that I'm pretty impressed of paul rodgers work. Much better than then 46664-clip. Well worth my bucks. |
PieterMC 06.04.2005 10:01 |
What is the file format? |
krantzet80 06.04.2005 10:08 |
they are in wma. 192 kb/sec |
TieYourMotherDown 06.04.2005 10:09 |
I am d/loading "I Want to Break Free" from Madrid. The price is absurd IMO. US$2 a track is silly, plus the blank CD for $10 and it's $25 for a CD made from 8 downloaded .wma files. 50c a track would be far more reasonable, this is an absurd price for average quality recordings. But I am desperate to hear these tracks. |
FILIPETSA 06.04.2005 10:12 |
Are we gonna have this on torrent ? It would be nice to share these first 8 tracks . If each person shares 2 tracks, it would be a lot cheaper to obtain them.... Who's with me ? I dont mind buying a couple to share on torrent... 1£ versus 50£ for the whole 50 songs is a lot different ! |
TieYourMotherDown 06.04.2005 10:13 |
OK listened to IWTBF, it is a very well recorded track with a nice mix of crowd noise and the band ... very enjoyable. But I am still flabbergasted that it's going to cost me an absolute FORTUNE if I want to get the full set ... |
cmsdrums 06.04.2005 12:44 |
I agree with the majority here - 99 pence is a real rip off for not top sound quality downloads. They may argue that 'you don't have to buy all the tracks' but we all know that we don't want to miss something for the collection -they rely on this attitude. Plus we've already forked out £55 a ticket for at least one gig, plus merchandise, £12 for a book of pictures (they called it a programme) - you would have thought there would at least be some nice forwarding words from Brian and Roger to say how the tour came about etc.. ...then we'll get the 'official' DVD/CD release which we'll all buy - Jesus Paul Rodgers' bank manager must be pissing himself laughing!! |

what da fuck is wrong with queen man? these tracks are too expensive. They´re definetely not worth it. Man, i like so much more when PR is not singing.. and what about those fuckin free/bad co songs, what a bunch o crap that is dude. Hate these bluesy stuff. His voice is too generic too, I know about 500 singers that sound just like him, and it pisses me off everytime i listen to them. motherfuckers have no originality at all. Don't these guys see that singing has to do a lot more with having a unique identity than actually singing with lots of technique? of course when u can combine those two you get something like a freddi mercury, but that's realy one in a million. But these generic bluesy singers really piss me off... always having to make a comment after each verse. I want to break free.. Oh yes baby i waaaaant... c'mon man get real, no originality at all. Well all I wanted to say was that PR sucks, thanx a lot |
shambapoo 06.04.2005 14:26 |
Of course even those with learning difficulties are entitled to their opinion. I was at Brixton and absolutely loved them. Paul Rodgers is one of the very best singers Britain has ever produced. If you don't like blues then I take it you don't like much proper music. |
mateuspaes 06.04.2005 15:01 |
i dont like generic voice, lack of originality that's what i dont like pal. And that's why I can't stan PR's voice, cause i know 500 others that have the exact same voice, and they all sound shitty to me ok? |
3137prof 07.04.2005 07:56 |
I'm sure that an official album will released of the tour in some way or form. They are after all recording all the concerts themselves. Although it may be the Hyde Park concert in full that is released or more like the Live Killers album. |
FriedChicken 07.04.2005 08:13 |
I ripped them to mp3 and they are widely spread amoung dutch fans, it should go global soon :) |
Eirik Drange 07.04.2005 08:33 |
Paul Rodgers is an amazing vocalist. period and if other ppl sound like him that's cause they're copying HIM. hardly his fault |
