hey guys( sorry i posted this topic in the general forums by mistake)
i was looking at the pics from paris and Brixton gigs on Rien's website and it seem to me that the light show and the stage are not as good and as big as they should be. i mean i look at the pics from 1980's and 1970's when freddie was around, and the light show just gives u goose bump. but i look at the new pics it just doesn't look like a Queen concert, it's more like a teenage band playin in a club or their school auditorium.
maybe im wrong or maybe not everything is shown in the pics. what do u think/
To me the light show on the new tour looks a lot better. I always thought the old Queen light shows were really garish and awful. The Hammer to Fall light rig, for example, just looks really dated.
the light show was actually pretty good.
i was at the Brixton gig and i know for certain - through interviews and simple knowldge of the venue - that it wasn't the full set, purely becuase its not the sort of place you can go uts and drill into the floor and all that crazy stuff the Queen tech's would do and other gigs. for example, Wembley Arena and Hyde Park are gonna look immense me thinks. especially with the walkway i've been hearing about.
back to the brixton... i thought the huge man controlled spotlights at the bck of the stage were amazing, and some of the lights during Last Horizon were beautiful. and although possibly a bit girly, the A Kind Of Magic rainbow lights still looked cool
Considering perhaps the short time they had to make this show, I must say the lights are very satisfying. The use of those big spots - are these supertroupers? - is extraordinary!
No, the light show is ok by me.
