As of 4/2/2005 here is The Official Press Release from Brian's website, with Paul Rodgers discussing that a USA tour is ONLY "iffy". I am concerned because Paul doesn't sound too keen about a tour that extensive that would not give him any "down" relaxation time. Just one thing..If they bail on the USA, and do NOT tour the United States, why is it ALWAYS the USA that they have some excuse valid or not, to NOT tour...just once then don't tour somewhere ELSE if you need to rest...and instead...come here! **Sat 02 APR 05** WILL U-S FANS GET TO SEE QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS? HUH? WILL THEY? HUH HUH? Fans of Queen and Paul Rodgers are probably green with envy of their U-K and Europe fans. The Queen-Paul Rodgers tour is well underway overseas, and is getting rave reviews from fans and critics alike - the London Independent gave it a four-star review. So, of course, we're still wondering: when will the dang thing ever make it to the States? Paul Rodgers says: You never know..."The original thing was, 'Oh, let's do a couple of shows in London.' And that just went, 'Whoosh.' And there was just so much enthusiasm, it turned into twenty-five dates across Europe, which is, I guess it's pretty cool. The only thing about that is I haven't actually done a full length tour for a long time. I tend to do with my solo band, I tend to do twenty or thirty shows a year and I just fly in and out. It's kind of, I have a life that way." |

It would make me so entirely happy to see Brian and Roger perform in concert. It's something that I really miss being a young Queen fan, never seeing the band perform right in front of me. I've been to a few concerts (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eagles...) and I think about how awesome it would be if I could see Queen... and I know it's not the same without Freddie, but still, it's as good as it gets for the many young fans of America. Who knows, it could be their last shot--Brian and Roger aren't getting younger... |

North America is a long brutal tour. Plus the interest is not as high in North America as it is in Europe: More pain - Less gain |

My advice to them is to finish the european tour, take a break to think things over and maybe record some tracks. Then if they do another tour, work out what they're doing from the beginning so they can plan ahead. I like this collaboration, so I don't want them to burn it out by pushing too far when it's just starting. |

This is posted today on the a report of VH-1 Queen+Paul Rodegrs Report on the News on Queenonline website. VH1 Q+PR REPORT WILL U-S FANS GET TO SEE QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS? HUH? WILL THEY? HUH HUH? "Fans of Queen and Paul Rodgers are probably green with envy of their U-K and Europe fans. Still sounds to me like the United States is going to get shafted again, and this time it's worse because this will probably be Queen's last tour...and us in the USA will Never get to see them... |

I don't think Paul's comments means a USA leg is "IFFY". I believe this quote was prior to the tour-I have heard/seen it or something similar a few weeks ago. And well it is a fact that he has only down a few gigs per year. Well brian and roger have done less than that. Seems like so far they are having a blast on the tour. My educated guess is that they will come over here in the fall. It will be a fairly small tour in size and we'll probably see them in smallish venues (2000-6000+). We probably will not hear about the tour until mid-summer.(People who bought U2 tickets or name any other band that has annouced dates may have money again to buy queen tickets, if they were up for sale around the same time the choice for many over here would be U2) I think we won't here until mid-summer because the promotors here want to see how the tour goes in the UK/EU before committing. And you never know--if Paul decides he does not want tour the US..Brian and Roger may have the confidence and be in shape to do it on their own. |

This was posted On Queenonline TODAY 4/4/05, and it was on Brian's website for the first time just 2 days ago on 4/2/2005. So Paul's comment is CURRENT! which concerns me alot. |
The Stealer 04.04.2005 14:33 |
I know have seen a clip -or read some where this same quote before the tour. (I'll do some research) I think the VH-1 quote from Paul was "lifted" from somewhere else..commonly done. In any event-no matter when it was I still contend that Paul's quote is a statement of his prior experience and not a hint that he is not up to doing a tour in the US. I am not going to read too much into his statement at this point. |

And remember Paul did cancel all his solo dates this year. That alone tells you something. My personal feeling is: At the end of this tour they will be a bit exhausted, but it won't take long for the itch to get back out to come up again. |

I want to start my tour savings fund; however, the idea of them coming here has always seemed a bit TOO good to be true. We'll see... Maybe they will come here, change to an all 70's setlist, and WE will have the Europeans green with envy..;-) |

Maybe this is old news? (I've been out of the loop for a while) but from Brian's site where he lists the tour dates: "USA TOUR EXPECTED AUTUMN 2005" |
Erin 06.04.2005 00:06 |
It's the "expected" part of that concerns me. There have been lots of expected Queen things that never happen.. |

If QP are good at one thing it is screwing things up and building false hopes... box sets, bbc sessions album..... |
