Hi there, two questions about the Bohemian Rhapsody piano track.
Firstly, does anyone know what the original key was that it was written in? I consulted countless .midi scores and sheet music (including the 'official' one?) and I found it to be Bb Major...
Anyway, then lately I decided to pop in the GVH1 DVD 2 and listen to the original backing track (that Brian was listening to in the studio). I was quite horrified to hear that my playing didn't quite correspond to the original...in fact it sounded a hell of a lot like Gb major lol!! Well this annoyed me not a little bit since i had already memorised the whole thing and practised it a lot. I considered that it might be that Freddie's Bechstein had a deeper tone perhaps lol...and well Bb major doesn't sound bad at all, I just would much rather play in the original key!
Anyway, second thing, on *all* the midi scores I have, I have this problem: the piano is perfectly fine throughout, UNTIL you get to the "heavy guitar section" (it begins after "has the devil put a side for me....for me...etc.) and ends with the "auidible" return of the piano and the climbing guitar riff. Its a shortish section, about 35 seconds, BUT on all of the scores I have, it's NOT the proper piano backing. In most, in fact, there's hardly any piano on that section... I think that's beacuse you can hardly hear it in the final cut of the song, its really drowned out by the guitars, and I take it the ppl who did all those scores never bothered to listen to the original backing track lol! So anyway, if anyone has a more accurate version (a midi score is fine) or knows where I can find one, I'd appreciate that very much!! At the moment my piano part on the Rhapsody sounds myseriously empty through that section hehe.
Lol sorry these are prolly rather obscure questions but yeah thanks if u can help!
