I've been looking at some websites for vinyl mastering and pressing, and I was wondering, would you guys be interested if I were to get a limited vinyl run made for the Freddie VS Smash remix "New York At Last"?
I've discussed this before, and some issues were brought up, but it fell by the wayside.
If I were to ask your opinions, what would you like to see on such records? Would you like to see it pressed as 7", 10", or 12" format. Also, I'm thinking of doing a colour vinyl, so what color would you like to see on the record?
Just wondering...
ED: I'm thinking this could be a charity release for the Mercury Phoenix Trust. What do you all think?
i'm not paying the air-fare to visit you in clink mate. unless you can get extradited to the UK first - then i'll visit you in Brixton Prison or Wormwood Scrubs to collect my copy - on (nice regal) purple vinyl of course
I think this should be done and premiered at the Summer 2005 Edmonton Queen Convention, with B, R and PR performing a small intimate gig with Dark on drums and possibly bass and a few backup vocals.
Very funny :)
Meh, perhaps I could get about 20-50 copies pressed on 12" white vinyl with some additional mixes to fill the space (time-wise), and do a little (quiz?) contest of some sort...?

I'm not that good of a bassist or singer. Drums, I'm pretty good at, but not nearly as good as Roger. Even then, why would they need two drummers if PR would be with them? Just curious, cos I thought Roger is really good just by himself on drums from what I hear.
Edmonton Summer 2005?! Are you fucking mad!! I wouldn't have enough time to set up a convention in such short notice! Maybe Summer or Autumn 2006, but definitely NOT this year, my dears!
Good idea Richard, but there is one drawback - Queen Productions wouldnt let Smash release it despite having a fair amount of radio play. So you would have no chance even if it was for charity.
Also, think how Smash himself would feel if indeed you did manage to get this released and he never got a penny for it because it all went to charity? All his hard work would have been for nothing effectively.
