Probably just me, but, last week I was curious about this album after hearing her single, "They." I downloaded Jem's album and put it on my minidisc for the trek into college the next morning. Well... I was completely taken by surprise as I loved nigh-on every song. And her voice..? Love it. Production is also really nice with songs that aren't too typical pop. And she did a lot of the producing herself - cool. :)
Anyone else heard her? I've been reading loads over the last week and really think she's gotta be a breath of fresh air. link - Btw, the flash version of the site has the whole album streaming in the background!
Peace,
Adam.
EDIT: And the comparisons between her and Dido? Nah. Dido can't touch Jem and I used to like Dido, too.
Stick out tracks for me are:
Wish I - so infectious and sweet sounding!
Missing You - I walked through Glasgow after having just gotten off the train and this song made me think more about a girl I'm really missing right now. Yeah, I know it's written about her dead relative, but it just struck a chord in me.
Falling For You - While stood waiting for the tube, this song came on and it was a nice surprise. Just a cool track.
Flying High - Such a delightful track
I'll stop there cause otherwise I'll start naming more tracks that'll practically be the entire album! Suffice to say, this album is something I really love. Put in my order tonight and can't wait to own this one.
Peace,
Adam.
