No 'Walk On' No 'With Or Without You' No 'I Will Follow' No 'Bad' No 'Until The End Of The World' That set list seems like half of the songs are boring. Too many songs from the new album, which are probably too mellow and quite dull when played live. I was considering going to see them this fall, but now I'm changing my mind. The 60 bucks that I spent to see them on the 'Elevation Tour' in 2001 were all worth it. Now I'd have to pay 25% more to see such a boring set list. Forget it, I'm saving all my money for Green Day and Queen. |

On the Elevation tour, U2 did 7-8 new songs routinely. Last night, they did 7 from HTDAAB. It's about the same in terms of new material, and I'm sure they'll adjust their set list as they go along. There were a couple Elevation staples cut from this tour, like Bad or Walk On, but they replaced them with a few songs not performed live in quite some time such as Zoo Station and Running to Stand Still. With or Without You was even cut from the Elevation tour in 2001, so its absence here is not that unusual. The big difference between U2 and Queen is that U2 has a new album, and thus new material, to promote. While Queen will stick to playing the greatest hits, U2 is willing to mix it up a bit more. I still plan on seeing them. |

U2's setlist from the Elevation Tour was better. 7 tracks from the 'HTDAAB' are just borefest. The album is just way too mellow to be played live. However, I have to give them kudos for including 4 tracks from 'Boy'. What's up with opening shows with 'City Of Blinding Lights'? Rock bands don't open shows with pop ballads. Really bad choice to open a show with a Coldplay type of song. The first sing a rock band wants to do when opening a show is to pump up the audience. I remember seeing them at the Garden 5 years ago, and the crowd when nuts when they opened with 'Elevation'. |

U2 played With or without you, bad at Glendale Arizona on April 15th 2005,im also pretty sure they played the other three at some point aswell, but def played WOWY and Bad! |

I remember seeing them at the Garden 5 years ago, and the crowd when nuts when they opened with 'Elevation'.AND not ALL shows opened with COBL, quite alot opened with Vertigo, like at the Amsterdam Arena in France, and at the City Of Manchester Arena, the only thing i didnt like was it was the same song to open a show and end a show.... plus i didnt like how COBL was in the middle of a setlist, doesnt sound right, i prefer it at the beginning. and HTDAAB is not borefest in my opinion, i like it! and i agree U2 are more willing to mix things up, and arent playing full albums, and not all songs were cut, a few which you say were cut were played quite abit during teh tour, again With Or Without you for e.g. and Bad was played numerous occasions... |

I think U2 should be more adventorous. I'm sick of Bullet The Blue Sky, Where The Streets Have No name and Pride In the Name Of Love- they were veteran songs on the Zoo Tv tour, never mind now. We need some songs from Pop- do something a bit different. |

IMO, bands should only play songs from a new album when they get a massive audience response. Green Day was able to get away with 6 tracks from 'American Idiot' on their setlist last year because those songs truly deserved to be played. Metallica didn't have such a brilliant album when they released 'St. Anger'. However, they gave audiences what they wanted on their promo tour by only playing 2 songs from the new album, and sticking mostly to material from the pre-Black Album era. The Stones came up with a quite decent album, and yet they only have 3 songs from their new album on their set list. Now, back to HTDAAB, U2 should have played no more than 4 songs from that album. 'Vertigo', 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own', and 'City Of Blinding Lights' should have been there, and the rest is literally a borefest. However, I would have LOVED to hear 'Fast Cars', which wasn't included on the final cut of the album, but made it into some special edition releases. Now, that is a song that truly deserves to be played live. |

That was a very cool setlist, Wilki. I saw them here in Monterrey, Mexico on February 12th and they seemed to have some lighting problems at the beginning. The screen didn't turn on until City of Blinding Lights, which was the 5th or 6th track. They opened with Vertigo (they closed the show with Vertigo aswell), then I Will Follow, I still haven't found what I'm looking for and The Electric Co. I know many of the hardcore fans enjoyed the addition of the Boy album tracks, but I would have prefered a setlist like the one they played in Mexico City some days later, including Zoo Station and The Fly, ass kicking tunes from Achtung Baby. Anyway, the show was very cool! :) I saw the Rolling Stones a couple of days ago and it was a good show aswell, but I knew more tracks from Alejandra Guzman, the female singer who opened the show for them, haha :). I attended that U2 gig in San Diego! I went home to California in a huff as I was POed because I didn't think I could get tickets to see Q+PR at Brixton. Bono spent the day between the two San Diego shows walking around Ocean Beach mingling with the locals. The beach area was swarming, quite literally, with butterflies that day, making me think of what Brian wrote for Freddie in "The Show Must Go On." It was a great show even WITH the civics lesson. Had tickets to see U2 again in October here in Washington, DC, but it clashed with one of the Q+PR gigs, LA, I think. I gave my U2 tickets to the same friend I gave my Stones tickets when their gig clashed with the Q+PR Aruba gig. I have my priorities. BTW, U2 opening with "City of Blinding Lights" going right into "Vertigo" was brilliant. |

In eMule there are some mp3s from the radio broadcasts and also videos (including a DVD) from the partial TV broadcast of the 2nd show. I recorded the first show on Hi-MD, but the sound it is mono sometimes due to heavy shaking. |
