OK, the set list was very good but not particularly great. I think they should have played these ones: - It's Late - Under Pressure - One Vision - Sail Away Sweet Sister - Who Wants To Live Forever - Scandal - Somedy To Love (don't know if it would fit Paul's voice in a good way, but it might) - Innuendo - We Will Rock You (fast) - Now I'm Here - Headlong - No One But You (Good for finale... WWRY/WATC are always good but too predictable by now) Which other songs do you guys wish they would play in the next tour dates. |

hcrvelin 29.03.2005 16:58 |
I'd like to really hear Prophet's song for... Hyde Park let's say :) I guess that song would tear apart whole place if played. Others already mentioned other good candidates. |
deleted user 29.03.2005 17:12 |
I was really hoping for much more from Innuendo and the Miracle. I'd like them to play: Invisible Man (very unlikely but it would be cool) Breakthru Headlong Scandal Innuendo (or at least an adapted version) '39 (sung by Brian) Another One Bites the Dust Keep Yourself Alive Flick of the Wrist/Tenement Funster (played together like on the album) |
AlexRocks 29.03.2005 18:13 |
Well, for one they should be playing the early and later songs done in their career that they never had the chance to perform live but instead they are just doing the same old stuff. That's not cool. I have decided that they should probably release a live double c.d. set from this tour or during it before a new studio c.d. is done. |
deleted user 29.03.2005 18:42 |
The one track I was disappointed to see that wasn't played was Breakthru. |
ariceffron 29.03.2005 19:35 |
yeah ITS LATE would be really good w/ paul |
MercuryArts 29.03.2005 22:38 |
As excited as I am to know this tour is happening, even w/ the over exposed songs we have heard time & time again being played. It's still better than nothing at all. BUT, I do hope they change up the set a little bit. Working w/ maybe three different sets. Even if they keep a few staples for marketing purposes, change up some of the lesser known songes. They should be pulling some surprises out of their crown! Sweet Lady would be nice. As would a few songs Brian & Roger sang lead on that never saw the light of day. I'd like to see a couple different Bad Co. songs thrown in like RnR Fantasy, the song Bad Co. w/ Paul at the baby grand. Also one of the most beautiful tracks from that band, Siver, Blue & Gold! I'd love to hear Brian put his stamp on that one. I'd also lke to hear a couple of The Firm tracks, mainly Satisfaction Guaranteed and All the Kings Horses. Some old cover by the bands "heros" would be cool too. Will it happen? I think John will join up first!!! Can't wait for the US leg to arrive!!! |
Shane Jazz 29.03.2005 23:03 |
Two songs I believe we will see at some point, even if they are played just once or twice: Sail Away Sweet Sister and Jailhouse Rock.... |
Saint Jiub 30.03.2005 00:38 |
I believe these songs have never been performed live solo or by Queen and might be excellent choices: Breakthru I Can't Live with You Made in Heaven I Go Crazy |
deadon2legs 30.03.2005 03:49 |
Breakthru It's Late Spread Your Wings All Dead,All Dead Keep Passing The Open Windows.... |
deadon2legs 30.03.2005 03:50 |
Calling All Girls Dragon Attack Staying Power Put Out The Fire |
[ Wybren™ ] 30.03.2005 04:20 |
It's Late Don't Stop Me Now Spread Your Wings Let Me Live You Don't Fool Me;) Innuendo The Miracle Breakthru Friends Will Be Friends If they play one of these songs in Holland (Nijmegen or Rotterdam) I would be very happy! |
ANAGRAMER 30.03.2005 06:16 |
Teo Torriate would have been nice (perhaps with Freddie vocal) |
TheProphet 30.03.2005 07:21 |
Absolutely IT´S LATE. It would really fit paul´s voice. I think it would also be something for the real fans, they play to much big hits at the moment. |
MercuryArts 30.03.2005 09:27 |
True, It's Late would be great to have dusted off. It would definately fit Paul's voice. Liar would be cool too! |
sexmachine 30.03.2005 10:38 |
say its not true no one but you two of the newest queen songs and both are great. |
icmrocha (The Man From Planet Marzipan) 31.03.2005 06:51 |
Maybe they didn't play songs such as Under Pressure, AOBTD and Breaktrhu because the bass is the heart of theses songs, and maybe the new bass player didn't get enough time to learn them... Just an opinion, though.. |
iljaiya 31.03.2005 07:17 |
There are a lot of songs on this thread that they absolutely won't play. FORGET about a lot of variety in setlists. They'll just do what they've always done: come up with a standard setist (about 25 songs) and then add one or two songs for special occassions. They've got a new singer for god's sake! People who expect or think Queen should play songs like great king rat, calling all girls and keep passing open windows have my sympathy (my favourite songs, haven't been played much live some never), but it's irrational. It won't happen! |
boca 31.03.2005 14:07 |
Innuendo Headlong AOBTD Save me Mustapha |
stormtrooper in stilettos 31.03.2005 14:20 |
lads ye should be over the moon that queen are on tour anyway fred sang the songs in a differant key (i think) then other musicians he was differant. paul rodgers i think is brave enough to be tackling into those songs that were anounced. queen had a great collection of songs they cant sing them all they dont run on batteries!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Drummer imense! 31.03.2005 16:17 |
I agree totaly....... However i would like to hear ' Ogre battle' 'sheer heart attack' and 'stone cold crazy'.. just my opinion tho!! |
iljaiya 31.03.2005 18:12 |
I know Ogre Battle and Stone Cold Crazy would be great, but so would: My Fairy King, The March Of The Black Queen (full), Bring Back That Leroy Brown, The Prophet's Song, The Millionaire Waltz (full), My Melancholy Blues, Jealousy, Sail Away Sweet Sister, Staying Power, Machines (or back to humans), Princess Of The Universe, Was It All Worth It? and Don't Try So Hard. Just for a start... But it WON'T happen! Not that I'm trying to be negative (I'm gonna see them live too and am very pleased they are touring again), but a lot of the songs mentioned here aren't serious options (although the unanimous scream for It's Late pleases me) . |
The Stealer 31.03.2005 20:30 |
I too am absolutely thrilled that we get an opportunity to hear ANY Queen song on a tour...we are all dreaming...But Brian if you are reading this..It's Late, It's Late, but not too Late! ;-) |
zaiga 01.04.2005 06:32 |
"It's Late" would be great, that song rocks. I would also appreciate something obscure from the first three albums, perhaps "Leroy Brown" or "Nevermore", those would be a great surprise to hear. Other than that, some new stuff like "Breakthrough" or "Innuendo" would be great to hear live as well. |
digi190 01.04.2005 06:49 |
breakthru and flick of the wrist!!! |
Knute 01.04.2005 06:51 |
You can add me to the It's Late petition One of the greatest rock tracks ever! That song would certainly go down a storm live. Even if you never heard it before, it would knock your socks off! That one could challenge Paul. Freddie really belts that one out. One of Freddie's best recorded vocal performances. How often did Queen play that one live? Does anyone know? Was it a rare live track or was it done on different tours? |
digi190 01.04.2005 08:57 |
it's late IT'S NOT the best rock track ever |
pirrakitas 01.04.2005 09:06 |
I really LOVE It's Late but, honestly, I think Stairway to Heaven by is slightly better. :-) |
pirrakitas 01.04.2005 09:11 |
Forget about Freddie's songs. However we could still get Now I'm Here, Headlong, Innuendo (please!!!) and perhaps ... IT'S LATE, IT'S LATE, IT'S LATE BUT NOT TOO LATE! |
Knute 01.04.2005 14:32 |
First of all, It's Late was written by Brian. Second, I said it was ONE of the greatest. Jesus H Christ! So I take it no one knows the live history of it? |
Banquo 01.04.2005 14:46 |
I would love if they choose some tracks off Queen I. Liar would be perfect. |
pirrakitas 01.04.2005 17:34 |
Of course It's Late is a Brian song, that is why I still have hope. Maybe for the open air leg ... On the other hand, being a difficult song to play, it will take a long time to reharse and play it properly, so if it not already in the set list, the possibilities are scarce. |
iljaiya 02.04.2005 07:01 |
It's Late was often played on the North American leg of the NOTW Tour and was actually in the standard setlist of the European NOTW tour and the Jazz tour (with the exception of the Crazy Tour in the UK). So this song was very often/ almost always on the setlist between late '77 and '79, but unfortunately it isn't on the Live Killers record..... |
