Well I just glad I didnt pay £55 to see Brian May masturbate in public.
I paid a tenner of a tout.
It was pretty poor IMHO.
They were unrehearsed. Paul Roges doesnt fit. They would have been better with Robbie Williams. Or better still - no vocalist - and just let the audience sing.
It was very badly paced too.
The Free / Bad Company stuff was quite good though.
Highlight was Love of My Life and I'm in Love with My Car (which was a suprise)
They did a bit of audiovisual trickery with freddie singing the beginning of Bohemian Rhapsody which worked ok.
Queen at Milton Keynes was my first ever concert and I think I've seen over 1000 gigs since that day; and tonight has to rank in the bottom 20.
The visuals as mentioned were poor. Badly edited and just not professionally done. Some footage from a tea party in Japan which showed no images of John. There was only one ( i think) visual of John and that was on screen for milli seconds.
But hey , the other 4,500 people there seemed to love it, and thats what matters at the end of the day.

I really enjoyed this gig, over 2 hours so we got our moneys worth. The sound was a bit dodgy at the start, or at least on the 4th row to the left of the stage, but it improved throughout the night.
Paul came on stage first, leather trousers, white top with red pattern quite striking in the stage lights, a bit of improvisation I think then...
Tie your Mother Down - Paul got the words right, or at least I think he did, the crowd went wild and it seemed everyone was singing along. He seemed to win people over - great stage presence.
Just a few words now as I am too knackered:
Paul, Brian and Roger all got their turn in the spotlight.
Paul - singing a couple of songs I'm not familiar with, one with Roger on bongos??(the drums he plays in TATD video). I was captivated by the power in his voice, those of you who doubted him should now be swallowing the last crumbs of your humble pie.
Brian - He played the Brighton Rock solo and followed it with Lost Horizon! Great stuff. Sang the first verse of Hammer To Fall (slow version). AKOM solo was brilliant, on form tonight.
Roger - Great version of I'm In Love With My Car whilst playing drums. Full of energy but he looked very red faced after songs, though he sweated less than me and I guess I'm at least 97 years younger than him, I beg you all to watch him during at least one song on the tour, definetly not past it. Also took lead vox on TATD with a great Brian solo.
We got the Freddie tribute - Bo Rap, Freddie on the screen from Wembley singing the ballad part with Roger and the band playing along, Brian solo, then the opera bit. Lots of vid clips of Freddie during this and was nice to see a couple of pics of Deaky (see title of this post) on the screen, just a nod to say he hasn't been forgotten. Then the full band plus Paul back for the rest of the song. Bo Rap really worked and Paul got a good rapport with the audience at the end. Standing ovation!!!!
Would I go again? Bloody hell yes, I'm on the eurostar to Paris Wednesday, can't wait!
Off to bed now with sore legs from bouncing and a sore throat from singing!

1. If you didn't think it would be worth the £55 Ticket Price, don't go. Simple as.
This is not a Communist State, you're not forced into attending.
It was pretty poor IMHO.

2. Not putting the Work in ?? Several days of rehersals at Bray, which came after WORK at Roger's house. Its the first night of the tour. I'm a massive Springsteen fan, who along with Queen, is the best live performer ever (period) and the first few shows on his Tours are normally steady and lack anything amazing. This is normally due to familiarisation with the new material. Come October 2002 on his Rising Tour- two months in- the sets were totally different.
Paul doesn't know every single lyric to every bloody Queen song, and probably never will. The Setlist should change in time.
No Vocalist idea ?? Laughable.
It was very badly paced too.
Good Setlists Loud songs to begin, bring it back down to a simple level, build up to another climax to take it to the Encores. Gradually build up again for a big finale............correct me if I'm wrong, but this is similiar to last nights setlist.
Admitedly AKOM didn't work too well, but loved the lights.
The Free / Bad Company stuff was quite good though.

The Visuals weren't that bad. The fact its their first night means some slack should be cut. It won't be perfect, Brian said so himself.
I saw lots of images of John, but the Screens visibilty wasn't helped by the bright lines near them
But hey , the other 4,500 people there seemed to love it, and thats what matters at the end of the day.
So did I- I actually think I saw different gig altogether...
But ass you said- other 4500 ppl loved it.
And I saw John few times on the screen. Don't know what you're talking about. The idea without a singer also seems extremely funny to me...
