Brian May will never match up to Paul Kossoff !! An alternate view on so called 'replacements' - they are not replacements, they are differences. To those that regard Queen as just being Freddie & a backing band, feel free to do so, it is your choice. I've always regarded Queen as a band, not just a singer only. Like Daniboy I can't get any pleasure hearing Queen songs sung by someone who is not Freddie. That makes me very sad. It is an emotional issue. Still, those who enjoy it should go and have a ball! Brian and Roger can do what they want, and it's their right to do so. I'd just like everyone to stop saying those who have a different opinion are not true fans! And also, everyone stop telling others they should get a life. I think these threads can be helpful and constructive, because we can learn to see things differently. I was totally against this tour when I joined these forums - and I joined them specifically to hear what other fans thought about it. I'm still against it, for the reasons stated above, i.e. that without Freddie it all seems so empty, so sad...But now I can also see why many others have decided to go and will have a good time. We are all Queen fans, otherwise we wouldn't spend so much time hanging around on these forums...as we all have a life!! So let's stop being aggressive. Definitely not. I was yesterday in the Barcelona concert. PR really disappointing,to me his best interpretations were for sure the ones of his own songs (which in a sense is normal, but on the other side you could really LIVE the difference). I had a feeling the applauses were definitely not for him when a Queen song was performed. I found terrible he was making his own version of singing a Queen song!!! (reminded me of Elton John singing "Show must go on"). Brian and Roger were perfect, though Roger seems to have gone really old and not being fit for such a concert. |
