QZ nicknames and their meanings...
| runy 26.03.2005 15:00 |
Well, mine is Runy, 'cuz I'm always running... But still always late everywhere... hehehe... A family feature, I guess. ;) When No Doubt wrote a song "Running", I thought they wrote it personally for me... :) I love my nick and although I really had no time when I had to create it (needed for some site to register in) and thought of it on the spot, it suits me so well that I don't think I'll ever change it... Another nick I sometimes use (but really rarely) is Melina Mercouri. I think it's pretty clear where it comes from. :) Loved that story of Freddie and his friends having girls' names... Usually I used it when I didn't want people to recognize me... (Gosh! Now I'll have to think of another nick!) hehehe... |
| Q-Jazz 26.03.2005 15:04 |
Q-Jazz= Queen Jazz I LOVE JAZZ ALBUM |
| deleted user 26.03.2005 15:12 |

My surname is James...then I just added a Miss to that... I know, I know...I am overflown with creativity.. |
| Lester Burnham 26.03.2005 15:24 |
I was in a mental hospital (I know, hard to believe) once and some lady asked for my name. She didn't believe I was actually enrolled there, but I didn't want to be found out! So I looked around and saw a sign with the word "less" on it, then I saw a girl crying and said "tear" (but I pronounced it "ter"). As I was in a cafeteria, I saw the cooking lady burning food, so I said "burn", and I looked down at my tray and saw "ham". Lester Burnham. Aw crap. |
| Janet 26.03.2005 15:34 |
My first nickname at Queenzone was Crazy Little Thing....but that was a very long time ago. I decided after about a year to just opt for my real name and have used it ever since. |
| deleted user 26.03.2005 15:36 |
oh and i forgot, the name in brackets is my last naem, so feel free to call me either name if u want! |
| Gunpowder Gelatine 26.03.2005 15:48 |
Mine's from Killer Queen. I used Glossimer when I first came on here, which is just a name I came up with randomly one day, and I also had My Bijou for awhile. I kind of want to change my nickname now, but with the post counts gone, I have a feeling no one will recognize me! |
| runy 26.03.2005 15:56 |
And what's your first name then, Begg? Is it too long and too difficult to be remembered that you use your secong one? ;) Also I thought that if you're a drummer, you must play in a band... How do band members then call you? Maybe you have a funny alias? ;) |
| runy 26.03.2005 16:03 |
Janet wrote: My first nickname at Queenzone was Crazy Little Thing....but that was a very long time ago. I decided after about a year to just opt for my real name and have used it ever since. And why you did that? You wanted people to know and to call you by your real name? |
| deleted user 26.03.2005 16:04 |
lol, im not in a band yet, im workin on that, and me first names Paul but everyone calls me Begg, its like i dont have a first name, Beggs is my TRUE nickname! |
| freddie4ever92 26.03.2005 16:10 |
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work mine out, I'm not that imaginitive, freddie4ever because, well he will rule 4ever (duh!) and 92 because I was born in 1992, Ta Da *puff of smoke* freddie4ever92 ! |
| deleted user 26.03.2005 16:11 |
<--- What nickname??? Seriously, that was what I called myself when I was still a wee one, my granny told me. |
| deleted user 26.03.2005 16:12 |
u can barely see it?! wot is it?!.... .... .... ... Bam bam or somet? |
| Ozzy Queen 26.03.2005 16:31 |
Well mine comes from a long line of family names. Dating back to my ancestors forefathers, Ozzy means "one with the earth and rocks". The name was passed down to me through a ritual involving a sacrifice of a goat. Thats my story...I wish. Ozzy is just because i'm from Australia and i like Queen. My real name is steve and nothing exciting has ever happened to me. Actually i once stepped on a tac. |
| bassist08 26.03.2005 17:09 |
Hmm mines not too difficult. Bassist-cause I'm a bassist DUH! and 08- cause I'm graduating from High School in 2008. |
| Janet 26.03.2005 17:21 |
Yes runy...I guess I thought, why not just be me. :-) |
| Hitman 26.03.2005 17:41 |
I have always been myself Why? because "Hitman is kiiiiing!!!!!!!!" :P seriously...because i love the song; it has the heaviest intro ever from Queen. |
| Ander Vørschört 26.03.2005 17:44 |
My original qz name was whowantstoliveforever88, for my favorite song. The 88 was a random number. I shortened it because it was too long and i am master of all things glaH. |
| 1quen_fan 26.03.2005 17:44 |
I thought I was the #1 queen fan, but I accidently typed it wrong.:) |
| Mrs.Taylor 26.03.2005 17:51 |
Oh .... no particular reason ;o) Plus when I enrolled I couldn't use my usual, everyday nickname because it said someone else already had it. I haven't tried to use it since. |
| Hildur. 26.03.2005 17:59 |
Hildur,it's just my real name :) |
| Mayboy 26.03.2005 18:00 |
Been a Nickname of mine for a long long time :) |
| dragonzflame 26.03.2005 18:13 |
dragonzflame came from an old email address I had, dragonz_flame@chasingshadows.com. Then the site I was with decided to start charging 30 pounds a year for membership so out went the email address but I still liked the dragonz_flame part because it sounded cool and I didn't want a Queen-related name. So when I joined QZ I decided to use that only without the underscore because it looked better. And there you have it. |
| Mrs.Taylor 26.03.2005 18:16 |
I just tried to change several bits of my profile and none of them worked, even though it said my profile had been updated :S Tried it three times, but no change. |
| Professor Snowy 26.03.2005 18:33 |
I'm not a real Professor. I'm just a very naughty boy! A couple of good friends gave me this title because I became a Lecturer at the local Tech College. Wanna be a uk electrician?!!!! I can help! |
| Serry... 26.03.2005 18:42 |
Serry is a nick from Sergey (my name) and Funster is from 'Tenement Funster'. Means nothing at all. |
| Pluto 26.03.2005 19:21 |
My first one was Pluto from the god of the underground pluto. Then i got board and changed it to Queen Leppard because queen is my favorite band and Def Leppard is my 2nd fav band. |
| Yogurt 26.03.2005 19:50 |
Mine is Yogurt because I eat it a lot. |
| deleted user 26.03.2005 20:03 |
Mine was Joe Satriani but recently i felt like changing it to Mr Brittas because my best comedy show is The Brittas Empire and i wanted a change. |
| inu-liger 26.03.2005 21:38 |
Inu Yasha - the name of a popular Japanese anime show and its title character (More info at link ) Lum's Stormtrooper - In the anime "Urusei Yatsura" ('Those Obnoxious Aliens'), which has the sexy Lum as the main female character, there are three boys who lust after Lum, and so they form a group called "Lum's Stormtroopers" to 'ensure' her safety and protection. ( link ) My nickname used to have the 's' at the end of Stormtrooper, but I changed it to make it singular (and plus it sounded cooler) |
| Daburcor? 26.03.2005 22:11 |
My first name is Dan, And my last name is Corson. Funny story, Eh? ;) |
| Lester Burnham 26.03.2005 23:19 |
Dan Corson wrote: My first name is Dan, And my last name is Corson. Funny story, Eh? ;)I'm sure more people got a kick out of it than they did my story. The lengths I go to to entertain you people, and not a peep. Harumph! |
| Saint Jiub 27.03.2005 00:40 |
See my sig as to why I have my current nick. |
| My Melancholy Blues 27.03.2005 03:01 |
Mine was Big Spender. In the middle '70s, Freddie used to reappear for the encore wearing a Japanese kimono with shorts beneath it and he used to do kimono strip as he was singing "Hey Big Spender". It looks outrageous but I love and admire his entertainer-ship. That's why I used it for my user name in his honor. But I felt like changing it. MMB is one of my fav. Freddie's compositions. He was somtimes outrageous but sometimes melancholic. I love both sides of him. |
| deleted user 27.03.2005 08:49 |

| Eddie Van-Halen 27.03.2005 09:24 |

| kerfuffle87 27.03.2005 09:47 |
yeh, mines a bit weird... my favourite word (?!) is kerfuffle (closely followed by gazebo) and then 87, well thats when i was born. maybe i could say there was a lot of kerfuffle when i was born!? or i could just shut up... |
| KillerQueen840 27.03.2005 10:24 |
Well, it's quite obvious where my name comes from, but the 840 is on the end cos it's sorta my trademark, I guess. I always add 840 to the end of all my usernames (with the exception of one). |
| Janet 27.03.2005 13:19 |
Amanda, you peeper you! ;-) |
| Mean Mistreater 27.03.2005 13:57 |
mine is the title of a Grand Funk Railroad song that I thought sounded really cool! |
| Banquo 27.03.2005 14:25 |
I named after the Shakespeare character in Macbeth. Just loved the sound of it at school. |
| nil 27.03.2005 14:52 |
It's the meaning of my real name, and a few mats and family call me it. |
| rachael mae. 27.03.2005 15:11 |
Well. I think when I joined QZ I was listenin to Somebody To Love.. or maybe I had that song in my head.. and I added 'me' on the end because I want someone to love me.. lol |
| deleted user 27.03.2005 15:23 |
Can't help it, Janet. *peep* ;^) |
| Mr Mercury 27.03.2005 16:52 |
I called myself after my fave singer - the one, the only John Deacon........ |
| Mr Mercury 27.03.2005 16:53 |
Btw... Miss James (and Janet) nice peepers!!! |
| XcessQueen 27.03.2005 18:25 |

| Ander Vørschört 27.03.2005 19:10 |
I was forever88 blah blah blah... anyway, in the chat room, Alex Solan changed his nick to Enrique Eglasias. I wanted him to be Marc Anthony, but he said to give him a good reason so i changed my nick to enriques_sexy_lover and immediatley he changed his nick to jloshusband! ;-) |

Well I guess mine is quite self-explanatory - I do bellydancing. When I originally registered here I wanted to use my normal nickname of Valentine (because I'm born on Valentine's Day) but of course that was taken!! |
| wstüssyb 28.03.2005 17:27 |

| LiveAidQueen 28.03.2005 21:25 |
Uhmm...Live Aid blew me away and I like Queen...So...Yeah... :-) |
| Mr.Jingles 28.03.2005 22:51 |
I was blown by a mouse. Yes, that mouse from The Green Mile. Gotta love the tiny little creature. Btw, when I said I was blown by a mouse, I meant blown away by his performance. And 79 is not because of the year I was born, but because that was the model of the car in which I was conceived (according to my uncle). That was a VW beetle 1979! |
| Sonia Doris 29.03.2005 06:17 |

| *3*Playful as a pussycat 29.03.2005 10:09 |
^.^ heh...i luv my name. if u havent guessed already, it is from Killer Queen. i originally wanted Killer Queen...but that was rather dull. so why not take a phrase from it? ok, so i took Playful as a Pussycat 'cus it's cute and i like it. it kinda fits my personality also... |
| Fenderek 29.03.2005 12:31 |
Fenderek is in Polish a sweeter way of calling a FENDER guitar, sth like "little Fender"- if you wanna call your guitar in a warm and sweet way- that's how you say it. Pretty much I just loved the sound of it. Funny enough- I use Gibson Flying V, but "Gibsonik" doesn't make it for me ;) although... Hmmm.... |
| iGSM 29.03.2005 21:37 |
Mine is pretty obvious. iGSM means two things really. First of all I believe that whats'isface that left Deacon something or other (his name was Jeffrey or the like) named me international Gay Sex Mafia so I stayed with that. Also in 1970 John Lennon was shit-faced and said into a recorder that was nearby 'igsm's, igsm's! not enough igsm's!' Then he wrote Imagine and I became a smash hit? Or is that Sma-Shit? |

I wanted a Queen song nick, so I chose Cool Cat, because I like it, the nick, not the song. But, I thought everyone would mistake me for a boy, so I added 'Lady´ to it. But, ironically, there are some people who STILL think I'm a boy..:P But, I'm not Cool Cat from the chat, I've been Lady Cool Cat from the start, so don't mistake me for him. ;) |
| Lady Cool Cat 02.04.2005 12:56 |
this is ChinesedogTorture speaking: There is an instrumental track on The Miracle called,''Chinese Torture´´. Since I love dogs, I put the word ''dog´´ in the middle of my nickname. tah dah! :-p |

| Megamike The GREAT 02.04.2005 19:35 |
Well.. some people may think my nick is some kind of Ego thing.. and you would be right... BUT.. it did have a humble beginning.. Back in 1996 when I first plugged into the internet with Concentric network I had to choose a nick name.. well.. I wanted CaptainMike because I was a Star Trek fan.. well that was taken.. so was AdmMike, well.. my friend joked around and said Hey.. why not miniMike.. now this was before Austin Powers and I thought about it and said No.. But What about MegaMike.. there we go.. and it was accepted.. so it was just me finding a nick that wasn't taken at the time.. and now.. I really can't think of a nick I would rather have than MegaMike.. even my Girlfriend loves it.. although she hasn't seen the product yet.. so MiniMike MIGHT STILL be the nick of the future.. |

| DoctorNine 03.04.2005 20:24 |
Okay... here goes mine.
I have two pets (besides fish) and their names are Kally and Leta (being the "Kal" and "let" parts... OH and BTW- her name is pronounced LEE-tah, not let-ah). Also, I love to listen to Billy Joel music (but not as much as I do Queen), so besides the obvious thing that Freddie was born in Zanzibar, it was also the name of a Billy Joel song (hence the "zibar" part).
Not too complicated, not too creative, but it's mine.

runy wrote: Not only a name... I bet there's a long long story under this nick...Yep. I tried to hide it, but I didn't fool you, runy. ;) One day there was a girl who lived in a village. She lived in a cottage about a half hour jog from the castle. In this particular cottage also resided the town silverman, the girl's father. He would mend broken utensils in a jiffy. He was an absolute genius at this and everything. Everybody loved him and his work. He was always the first man people with bent spoons went to. Has the ice cream you served last night got your scooper all in a twist? This guy's your man. There was one problem though. Actually, two problems. The first was a group of unruly individuals speculated that this guy and the town ice cream confectioner were conspiring to keep the bent silver business up. The ice cream the confectioner would make would be so dense that scooping it out bent whatever you used to dig it out with. It was heaven, nonetheless. This scenario could not simply be avoided by refraining from buying ice cream, because the silverman would give you coupons for half off any order over $10. A vicious cycle indeed, though both men denied aligations. The second problem was no one could say his name. Well, they could, but no one really wanted to. You'd understand if you knew what his name was. Perhaps I should unveil this mysterious and complex name. Here it goes. The name of the silverman I have been refering to is ... Bob (deep breath)Vanifferikleikkerdefferudennopinioshkolleskopieindiffer. See? It's a very long name. His first name as you can see is Bob, but the culture in this village was set up so that unless you called someone by their first and last name, you'd be insulting them. And this is more than a Vafanculo caliber insult. Yes, using the first name was nearly 10,000,000,000,000,000.67 times worse. Now, you're probably thinking to yourself, "why don't they just call him Mr. Bob Van or Bob Vaniffer or some other sort of abbreiviation?". Well, this too is insulting. To be precise, it is 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.769 times worse. So anyone and everyone was forced to say (or at least forced to attempt to say) Bob Vanifferikleikkerdefferudennopinioshkolleskopieindiffer. Of course a solution came when they needed to say his name. "That guy" became the popular and culturally accepted address of this particular character. So life continued on. But wait! What of the girl I mentioned? Being that guy's daughter, she too had the last name of Vanifferikleikkerdefferudennopinioshkolleskopieindiffer. Her first name was Victoria, so officially she was called Victoria Vanifferikleikkerdefferudennopinioshkolleskopieindiffer. People tired of refering to her as well. So she became "The daughter of that guy". She grew up her entire life wishing she could've used her dear mother's maiden name: Poe. Nonetheless, until her father died, she would not be able to label herself as a Poe until her Vanifferikleikkerdefferudennopinioshkolleskopieindiffer parent had died. No one made fun of her. It wasn't a matter of spite or malice. Nonetheless, despite everyone's lack of conviction of her true name, it got her down in the dumps a little bit. So she'd help her father with his business as the cashier during the week and polish towel changer on the weekends. One day, a miracle happened. Joe Hilleriffienen and Darin Soemetheer from the other end of town had come down simultaneoulsy to pick up their bent spoons. "Good day, boys. I'll be right back with your mended spoons," she greeted them as they walked in the cottage with a warm smile, "just have a seat". So the two young strapping lads seated themselves and began a quiet conversation. A mere moment later, Victoria Vanifferikleikkerdefferudennopinioshkolleskopieindiffer returned with their spoons. "You both have quiet a number of spoons. May I sugg |

after a few weeks of posting here, looooong long ago, when most of the posters here never heard about the internet (and some even about queen), I found this a very nice name, referring to a very nice song and yes I'm a dreamer also that's it. |

I am reputed to be fat and carry a sack of munch (food) with me a lot. Hence my nickname Munchsack. I was Purple Shoes for a while (from Tenement Funster) but now I'm Munchsack again. |

The name Fairy reminds me a whole lot of Queen, considering their earlier albums full of mysterious stories. I like fairies, they're generally cute, friendly and good-hearted...I hope I am too! I also like the way it sounds. And it begins with F, like Freddie, and like my real name. When I signed up I wanted FairyQueen. It was taken...and now I'm glad I got this one. |

w00t! Mine's from Spike Milligans book Where Have All The Bullets gone (i'm 14, but i love him!) if you haven't read it, here's the bit, i can't be bothered to explain. "We jump ashore. The Colonel Startling Grope misses and plunges his leg up to the groin in the waters. 'Oh bother', he says, meaning 'Oh fuck'. With SEVEN DRY LEGS AND ONE WET ONE, we follow the colonel up a small path inland.(unimportant bit).He ushers us in, all the while looking suspiciously at the colonel's one damp leg." There. Straight from the book. I thought it was funny. |
