What's some great music you've found lately? I'm always looking for new recommendations, and everyone here's got great taste! :)
I just bought O by Damien Rice (the song The Blower's Daughter was in the movie Closer) and it's great! Itunes classifies him as folk, but it's more of a mellow, acoustic kind of rock. His voice is amazing, too.
Vhs or Beta opened for the Duran Duran concert I went to last night in Auburn hills in Michigan, they sounded great live, kind of a lame name "Vhs or Beta" sounded deeply british to me, they were pretty good, normally I never pay attention to the opening act.
Depends what you like, if its the same as me, you can't go wrong with
The Killers
Keane
Kings Of Leon
Snow Patrol (not really new but broken through last year)
Razorlight
Franz Ferdinand
Kasabian
The Zutons
Kasier Chiefs
Bloc Party
Ambulance LTD
Athlete.
To name but a few, but I agree, the music has picked up. Probably my favourite time since those great days of Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Suede etc.
Forgot about Franz Ferdinand and Kasabian. Great bands. I can't get into Snow Patrol though dunno why.

I don't like too many new bands, but I do like:
The Killers
Scissor Sisters
Umphrey's McGee
You should check those out.
Scissor Sisters are good, although I haven't gotten around to listening to the CD since December! I should do that now that I'm on spring break. I loved Return To Oz, Laura, Take Your Mama and Mary. Franz Ferdinand and Jet are great, too. I think I will check out The Libertines, though. My boyfriend burned me a couple songs from them and they sound great!
At the moment...well I don't get to listen to much 'new music' since I won't listen to the top 40 stations.
Daisy Chain Halo is ace, it's a local band fronted by my friend and ex-boss and I think a lot of you might be rather interested.
I think the site is link
I recently bought greatest hits CDs of Neil Young and The Grateful Dead. I'm actually getting very tired of my music lately.
Anybody want my collection?
I sometimes like to look for new music but I haven't had favorite new comers for some years. But I bought Evanescence debut album CD by chance over a year ago and since then they've been my fav. new comers. I also enjoy seeing their live DVD and I'm looking forward to their new album.

oooooo GD? I'm just getting into them!
I'd love your collection!! Pity you're just joking around.
Alli - The Libertines are kind of indie rock punk . I like them but they are a little shouty for me. I'd check out their first album. A song called A Time For Heroes is my favourite.
Englebert Humppadink of course ;oD
...but is it just me who doesn't like The Killers, etc. I feel like I should be listening to them, but I prefer the good ol' stuff anyday..
And the Libertines are now no more. Thanks to Pete Doherty's well-publicised troubles. The first album is indeed brilliant but the second album just nicks it for having Campaign of Hate on it. Produced by T_M's old mucker apart from time-lords Mick Jones

Nothing beats good old live 70's GD!
Though any Greatest Hits CD could leave you with a bad taste!
