Happy Easter! I was gone for so long and there are quite a few changes I see. Everything seems great here. I joined quite a few other boards in the time that I was gone, and I must say that Queenzone is much better than any of them by a long shot. Here, it just all seems so advanced and everyone seems to stick together as a whole group. I'm glad to be back and you guys are all great. Love, Jess |

To Arlene, Schools ok thanx for asking! Not sure how long spring break is but I'm off for 2 weeks not long but at least it's a holiday ! The boy that was being nasty to me heard that my mum was coming into the school and, sorry to be crude but, shat himself, started to be all nicey nicey to me and hasn't said anything horrible to me since !!! It was quite fun to see him so scared !!! Did you manage to find any of those magazines yet (Ellegirl or Q) some people have been saying the Q one doesn't really have anything new in it, well I haven't really been a fan long enough to have read it all before so I enjoyed it !! :-D |

Another Easter, and yet another year where I wonder what the hell is the relationship between painted eggs, peeps marshmallow chicks, bunnies, and the resurrection of Jesus. |
KillerQueen840 28.03.2005 07:08 |
I can't say much about the other stuff, but the painting egg idea resembles new life. At one time I knew what the bunny meant, but I forgot. :-) |
deleted user 28.03.2005 07:15 |
When I have kids, I'm not introducing them to the Easter Bunny. When I was little I didn't get much enjoyment out of finding eggs and I really don't want them to enjoy this holiday because of a fake bunny. |
Mr.Jingles 28.03.2005 08:24 |
I remember that back when I was in Colombia a lot of religious people complained that for the most part people saw Easter as a vacation break week, when they should look at it in a more spiritual way as a week to reflect rather than to relax and have fun. |
Sonia Doris 28.03.2005 08:50 |
haaaaaapy easter!!!!! |

How you celebrate Easter should be a personal decision within your family. In my family we did do the "Easter Bunny" thing but we also were taught the importance of the resurection of Jesus. They were two separate things on the same day. We went to church on Easter, came home, put on play clothes, and went hunting for our easter baskets that the easter bunny hide, and then ate Easter dinner as a family. It was sort of like Santa Claus and the birth of Christ at Christmas time. We had Santa Claus but my brother and I were always aware what the real reason for the season was. My parents never mad a big deal out of the Easter Bunny but we were allowed to experience it. I think the key in raising children is to not make a huge deal over things. Stress proper behavior, morals, values, be consistent in enforcing them, and protect your children for God's sake. Well that is my lesson for the day. I feel much better. |

I was raised catholic (luckily my parents weren't too religious) and I went to a catholic school, so religion was in some few ways enforced on me because of that. We were required by our school rules to attend religious events and processions for Easter week on Palm Sunday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That was quite a nuisance let me tell you, because they made us dress up on our catholic school uniforms for special events while wearing a suit and a tie and walk for around a mile during the processions. The temperature would be around the high 60s at times, which made it difficult for many of the students to keep walking along, and once in a while you'd see kids passing out with exhaustion (some of them actually faked it, though). Parents complained that students shouldn't be forced to attend religious events, especially since we'd end up feeling completely tired after a 4/5 hour procession and mass. Ironically the school decided to stop forcing students to attend religious events, but that was one year after I graduated. Imagine how pissed off I felt when I heard that. |

My dad bought a leg of lamb for dinner yesterday, and my mom was really upset. She was saying how we hardly do enough Jewish stuff as it is, and now we're eating lamb on Easter, which is supposedly symbolic. It was pretty funny, because my dad tried explaining that he wasn't thinking of anything religious or symbolic about Jesus when he bought it, he was thinking "Mmm... leg of lamb. It's on sale!" |

Yesterday, we spent the day shopping at Tower Records and Borders Books & Music near Washington DC looking for Queen stuff! then we ate a BIG roasted Chicken dinner! |
Mr.Jingles 28.03.2005 17:43 |
Devoted Catholics enforce not to eat meat on Fridays between Ash Wednesday and Easter. My parents never believed in that, so I was able to enjoy my mom's roast beep and steaks any day of the week. |
KillerQueen840 28.03.2005 20:55 |
I don't mind excluding meat from my diet on Fridays during Lent. The only meat I really eat is chicken, but there are so many things I like such as salad, veggie burgers, soy nuggets, cereal, cheese quesidillas, protein bars, etc. :-D |
