but you people whining are freakin pathetic. I'm tired of hearing people bitch and moan about what they don't get. You should be glad Queen has the staying power to still be releasing new things or even goin on tour. I know everyone is entitled their own opinion, but I'm tired of everyone bitching about "no boxset" "paul rodgers sucks" blah blah blah, we all know you hate it, so shut the hell up do you really need to make your point every five minutes on a message board?
Another thing is you're selfish. With all this bs about a new tour, you all "no one can replace freddie" well no shit- they arn't replacing him, they are just trying to find a way to go on the road again and play music, its whats they love, its their job, give them a fucking break. There's a whole generation of Queen fans (myself included) who have never had the chance to see Queen or Queen members live, but I guess that's my fault for being born too late? I guess I'm not a real Queen fan. Queen or the Queen name can't be the same band you saw back in the 70's/80's, but they still want to play the music they love and wrote...WHAT A CRIME!
And the boxset thing, you should be glad you are getting anything. Sure Queen is the best band that ever existed in our eyes, but lets face it, the whole world does not share out opinion, just as you are entitled to your opinions they are theirs. A boxset would not have sold well, I know in the US especially. No one would have made any money and it probably would have jeoparidized any more possible future releases. And you might say oh they just want to make money well once again- no shit! If they release something that doesn't make money, the record label is not happy and will put them on the back burner in terms of importance, to focus on more money-making acts. Same goes with DVDs or what have you. Don't say Queen is stealing from the fans and hoarding all the recordings for themselves, because you should be glad you are getting anything, if your such big Queen fans, you shouldn't mind buying the albums again, oh no you got an extra CD you already had, boohoo, well if they released the original idea for a boxset, you'd be paying $100-$150 for a 6 CD set of rare stuff, so I don't understand why you wouldn't mind paying $195 (average CD = $13) for 15 CDs of rare material from every album session? that sounds like a good freakin deal to me.
There's some great bands out there that don't exist anymore, sure maybe they didn't make as big of an impact as Queen , but you don't hear their fans moaning and bitching about the band not getting back together, or reissues of older albums with bonus material, they are all just happy for what they got in the short time the band was together. (obscure reference alert) Take At The Drive-In for example they were together for 6 years and had 6 releases (3 albums and 3 EPs)..their label is releasing a "anthology" this year with ONE CD and ONE dvd. And the CD/DVD doesn't even have a full live show on it! GASP! But do people complain? a little, but not nearly as much as I hear you people do.
I know arugin on the internet is in the end futile, but this has been a long time coming, I apologize, but you people whining all need to realzie how greatful you SHOULD be, rather than just complaing every five minutes about how you won't get to hear a certain outttake that you never even heard. I realize Queen all means a lot to us which is why you all get upset, but c'mon, maybe you need to be more realistic.
Like you say, we're all entitled to our own opinion.
I've never heard of Paul Rodgers, so I couldn't possibly comment.
But it's like gaffer says, "There's two sides to every story " he says " my side and the wrong side."
I'm glad Queen didn't pick Robbie Williams because he's nothing but a Freddie Mercury poser, just like he likes to be at times a Frank Sinatra and James Bond poser.
Ok.
*rings up ex-Mr Lisser*
Me: Hello, this may seem odd but I was told by your ex-wife she never complained. Oh my name is iGSM, lower case i, upper case GSM. Yep, that's me. The cool one.
Him: Aieeeeeeeeeee! YOU ARE TOO POWERFUL! YOU WIN!
Me: Damn right.
Another good adventure for Snagglepuss!
That was a great story, Tony Randall. I mean, iGSM. I'd buy it if it was in paperback, and with 12 point Garamond typestyle face, maybe double-spaced and one-inch margins all around, roughly under 150 pages and with a very conclusive ending.
Yes indeed. And that's how I saved Yom Kippur during the great storm of nineteen aught six.
Only once, when iGSM killed me in my sleep. He then rightfully fled to Australia to await a rebuttal from me, but I decided I would rather die instead of travelling to Aussieville. Which, coincidentally, he took care of. And it all came full circle.
yeah! you tell them whoever-wrote-the-original-post! (i forgot to look...) i think some fans need to get over themselves... im sick of people bitching aswell! they're probably not even coming to australia (i mean, who would?) so at least they ARE coming to the US. sure, im pissed off that they're not touring here, but im kinda over it (*twitch*). i'll watch a DVD of theirs, then cry myself to sleep...*sob*
