I would like to see Brian & Roger take and stage "We Will Rock You" on Broadway here in the USA.
With a little love and fine tuning, (ie: a great cast, a great director, a great choreographer, the right financial backing, etc.), it would be a Great platform for the show and,
I think WWRY would finally get the respect and recognition (especially from those nasty critics), that it truly deserves Internationally & in the USA. Broadway is a BIG deal, in terms of respect, reaching the mass public, and clout, etc. plus it would make the show eligible for America's TOP Theater Award/Honor, The Antoinette Perry Award (known here as The Tony Award).
IMPORTANT--For any doubters out there, we have here in the USA a musical theater show on Broadway (and now touring Nationally), called "Hairspray" based on the VERY B underground
Non-musical satire film, by the VERY B cult film Director John Waters. Every critic in the USA was panning it BIG TIME just when word broke out that Waters was even trying to take the show to Broadway.
Well Waters got the right financial backing, an excellent cast, Director, and Producers, and took the show to Broadway, and the show was...and Still IS a Smash HIT.
It won SEVERAL Tony Awards, every Critic in the USA heralded how Wonderful it was (and they all ate their words too!!!)...and NOW...it is in
Pre-Production as a Hollywood Movie Musical--currently rumored to star John Travolta!!!!...So there you have it.
Have a Little Faith as they say....
Since NONE of you seem to care about this, I'll fill you in on another recent development, that might prove my point to stage WWRY on Broadway.
I just read in some music magazine, that Monty Python developed their film, "Monty Python & The Holy Grail" into a musical stage show called "Spamalot". First they "tried it out" OFF Broadway here in the USA in Chicago, to get critical & Audience feedback, iron out a few rough spots and things...and NOW it IS going on Broadway!!!!
Come on folks, rally round!!!
A friend of mine went to the opening night of "Spamalot" and said that it was absolutely wonderful. It's always amazed me that American audiences actually managed to find Pythin material funny as, with the greatest respect, irony is completely lost on the majority of them.
Eric Idle has been heavily involved in the development, so it was bound to be a huge success.
As for WWRY, who knows? I'm personally hopin that the quicker it disappears from sight, the better. WhenQ+PR finishes, I'd like to see a return to quality solo material from Brian & Roger. Currently, WWRY is getting in the way of that.

I have not seen WWRY. I know the critics hate it, but it was my understanding that Queen fans loved it. Whoops!
Is it That bad?

I would LOVE for it to go on Broadway. There is no way I can make a trip to Las Vegas, but NY is a little closer.
Just got back from Vegas Yesterday. Went to see the show. One word - amazing.
I expected it to be mega cheesy and the music to be....well, I didn't know what to expect from a musical. It was hilarious and the band were the next best thing to hearing queen in the flesh.

Great to hear. Now that Spamalot WON the Tony Award Sunday night for best musical...maybe THAT will give Queen & Robert DeNiro, Tribeca Productions enough courage...incentive, and LEVERAGE to try staging this on Broadway!
I go to a few West End Shows and I saw WWRY five days after seeing Queen and Paul Rodgers. I was scared it would be cheesy and weak after seeing Queen and Paul, but it was BRILLIANT. The singing was great (not like most West End vocals, some was very raunchy), the sets were amazing - it was almost like a gig within a story. Not many West End shows end with a Red Special and a mike stand being utilised!
It's just like Queen - loud, theatrical, fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. Packed with Ben Elton's humour and filled with over 30 Queen songs, I advise you to see it. I liked it so much I even bought the CD.
