Well i was just wondering if the group would still be touring if Freddie was still alive. My friend seems to think that Freddies voice wouldn't be up to it. Wot do you guys think??? |
Victoria 16.03.2005 23:55 |
I like this topic (even if it isn't a new one:D ). I think Freddie would've stayed in the music industry at the least. Maybe a tour. His voice wouldn't be bad. There are others who still sound great well into their years. So why not Freddie? :) I believe he had capabilities to further his movie soundtrack aspirations. His musical ideas that he used seem like they could develop greatly in favor of such a career. I think he would've been great! He could've done lots of other things too. You never know. Maybe he could've felt a calling toward bus driving or something. :) |
Sebastian 17.03.2005 00:16 |
Perhaps we wouldn't be here... the popularity of the band certainly boosted when he died. |
deleted user 17.03.2005 14:26 |
I think it's better he died. He never wanted to grow old, and I'd rather remember him the way he was than some balding old man. |
deleted user 17.03.2005 14:38 |
I'm not too sure. He once said he wouldn't want t6o dance round like a prat in his fifties or something. I may be wrong becaus ei can't remember his exact words. It was on a documentry. He would still be music making though definately. I think his voice would probably also remain the same. |

If he were alive, I'd be out chasing for him! ;-) |

If Freddie was still alive queen would have made 3 more albums in the 90:s and one more 21st century... Their music style would change into the pop, just like britney spears. They would only make one tour on the 90s, whitch would be just pure shit whit Freddie just sitting instead of running around in the stage. They would have come up whith maybe 5 big hits, that someone like Max Martin would have written. In other words, they would be just shit and people would only remember the glory days of the seventies. So its kinda god that they did quit while they still were on the top! RIP Freddie! |
Lady Cool Cat 18.03.2005 14:32 |
Yes...I'd prefer it if he'd died...I feel weird saying this. Well, I think the whole ''Queen story´´ ended well. The lead singer diyng, and his mates quiting because of their love for Freddie. And, I wouldn't like to see them all be together, and be all old, and still be in the music industry...it would loose all it's ''Queen personality´´. Queen is supposed to be 4 man who have a lot of talent, and are not young, yet not old, and have great personality, and on stage, they're awesome! Now imagine them old, white-haired, running around the stage... |

Yeah I think it's best he died. Freddie is in a better place anyway. |

I THINK 1QUEN_FAN IS AN ASSHOLE HOW COULD U WANT HIM TO DIE. IF HE WASNT DEAD THEY WOULD BE KICKIN ASS TOURIN WITH HIM RIGHT NOW. NOT SOME DUMBASS PAUL ROGERS WHO CANT SING FOR SHIT! HE WAS THE GREATEST SINGER OF ALL TIME. I WISH HE WERE ALIVE RIGHT NOW AND DOING ALBUMS AND DOING A TOUR. THAT WOULD BE FUCKING AMAZING!!! SO FUCK YOU 1QUEN_FAN!!! FUCK YOU!! |

Before you go shouting stuff like this you should actually think about your arguement. |

If he were alive, he would make a song for himself to do strip or he would have already made it. :D In the middle '70s, he used to do kimono strip for the encore as he was singing Big Spender ( which I used for my old user name!) and he said he wanted to make some by himself... |
Leppar 20.03.2005 09:33 |
If he were alive he would probably retire gracefully. |
Scott_Mercury 20.03.2005 10:19 |
I too think he would have gracefully retired from Rock Music....however, I could see him doing more with opera... Or putting out an album of great songs of yesteryear, like Rod Stewert's been doing. You must think, all he knew was music....and Freddie wasn't one to just sit around. Who knows, maybe Queen would still be touring...its possible... Hard to believe Freddie would have been 59 this year. |
Poop Last Panda 20.03.2005 21:17 |
Queen would sooooo still be ROCKIN! 1QUEN_FAN is obviously not the #1 QUEEN fan, but he might be the #1 QUEN fan although, whatever the hell that is. |
LadyMoonshineDown 20.03.2005 22:10 |
Who knows? It's not like any of us are right. Pretty much guesses and opinions really. Either way, I would have still loved Queen. Cheers |
Real_Queen_Lover 22.03.2005 01:44 |
in my opinion, because that is all it is, Freddie's voice being one of such a high range, if he was still touring, we'd be seeing different songs performed, ones were he wouldn't have to strain his voice to hit high notes. His voice was at its peak when he died, but 59 is old for someone who can sing higher then alot of women. My guess is, queen would still be around and recording, but we'd see alot less high "Freddie" songs. But you know what, queen ended in their prime, and we should remember Freddie as he was. AWESOME! |
Arden Street 23.03.2005 08:26 |
Freddie was on the record in a documentary saying that he'd eventually want to back off from the performing role and have more of a production or mentoring role in the industry. So I'd guess that's what he'd have done. There are some bizarre 'fans' on this site. You preferred he died? Yeh it's reality but what a strange comment. And it's debatable that it took Freddie's death to make them a bigger band. If he had been healthy and they toured circa 1993+ I'm pretty damn sure they'd have still packed out any stadium in the world. |
The Fairy King 23.03.2005 09:02 |
...I think he would produce lots of albums for others. Sing duets with Elton John, Aretha Franklin, Robbie Williams, George Michael and Bono. Appear on MTV Unplugged gig early nineties with the rest of the band. Collect more awards. Play in some movies. Write a book...nah...he wouldn't have the patience xD |

I realy don't know about this, if Freddie was healthy, would Innuendo be as good an album? I think Freddie and the rest of the band were inspired (if that's the right term?) to write some of the best music of their career knowing that the next song they recorded might be the last. Saying that I wish that Freddie was still around and they were still making top class albums and touring, but I wouldn't want them fading away, to quote a song/film soundtrack "It's better to burn out than fade away" Dan |
RohemianBapsody 24.03.2005 03:24 |
If Freddie was alive today he would be enyoing life to the full. I still think he would be writing and performing as I don't think he would want to be behind the scenes. |
Fairy 24.03.2005 05:36 |
Freddie didn't want to die an old man...I too am not one who would like to live till 95 and become the shadow of myself. But he was ONLY 45!!! And his life had become hell years before. Saying it's good he got AIDS and died is really shameful. Yes, he would have enjoyed life to the fullest. He still had many great years to live. I agree his death gives albums like Innuendo a deep meaning, but if he had been alive there would have been different meanings to attach to their songs, and still make them precious. |
English Bowman 24.03.2005 08:25 |
Fairy wrote: Saying it's good he got AIDS and died is really shameful.Perhaps I didn't make myself clear, I wish that he hadn't contracted AIDS, in fact I wish that the disease didn't exist, but I do think that some good can come out of anything, no matter how bad. If I could change things and ensure that Freddie remained healthy I would, and take the risk that Queen may have faded away with poor and lack-lustre albums. (Of course this may not have happened, and Innuendo might have been just as good with better to follow) However I do try to see the positives that come out of a situation no matter how dark and depressing the negatives may be. Oh, thoghts about it make me cry... I can't think about Freddie's dead without tears... It's cruel, it's wrong! He should be alive! I believe that he's looking at us from the sky... he's with us... If Freddie was alive... more beautiful songs would have been born... |
doremi 08.04.2005 14:54 |
As Brian always says Freddie was always full of such vision, ideas, imagination. We all know and saw Freddie produce and collaborate with other artists, and delve into other music forms as well such as with opera & Monseratt Caballe, he did musical stage theater with "Time", he did a song of in the film soundtrack of "Metropolis", "Love Kills", he had performed and danced with the Royal ballet in 1979. I think Freddie would have explored as many creative, realms and possibilites that would have allowed him to evolve and stretch and grow as a singer, as a musician, as a producer, as a songwriter, and who knows what else. His mind and spirit were a wondrous flowing river. I think he and Queen would have WELL rocked on 59 years old or not...Look at Mick Jagger & The Rolling Stones or Rod Stewart, or Eric Clapton...they are all OLDER and look great and rock their asses off! And Freddie had a great love and lust for life. I think that Queen would have continued to even greater hrights, that Innuendo still could and would have happened... and that Freddie would have kept us all guessing with what great artistry he would create on his own solo and with Queen. he was like the butterfly in the video in These Are The Days Of Our Lives, Full of life, always reinventing himself and Queen, and soaring ever higher... |
