In the USA we have PBS TV (The Public Broadcasting Service). It is a private, nonprofit corporation whose members are Americas' public TV stations -- some 349 NONCOMMERCIAL stations serving all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa.
Programs are obtained from PBS stations, independent producers and sources around the world. PBS does not produce programs.
No, I don't work for PBS.
The local station of PBS has membership pledge drives (it does this about three times a year spanning about a week - showcasing a wide variety of programs interspersed with 20-minute pledge drive breaks.)
Recently Tina Turner was featured, and the station offered various Tina music products as "gifts" for joining - the worth of the gifts increasing with the amount of money pledged.
So, I thought, why not Queen?
I have emailed my local station suggesting that and am hoping lots of other Queenzone readers will do the same.
I carried on quite a bit why I thought this would be a great idea. Perhaps they could link with Hollywood Records for music gift ideas. I would imagine there are quite a few Queen fans out there that don't know about the most recent dvd releases. And this just might create a new fan base for those who wonder, "Who sings 'We Are The Champions,' anyway?"
So, if you like this idea, please join me in contacting/emailing your local tv station and/or PBS directily (using the link above.)
I think it would be a dynamite show and raise a lot of money for noncommercial TV. Queen forever!!!
Thanks!

I'll do it. They did the Grateful Dead and offered some pretty good stuff. And they had an interview with a Grateful Dead archivist. that would be awesome if they could do that for Queen.
