I mainly listen to jazz Thomas. If you take out the Queen/related CDs from my collection, jazz would be the dominant music. Apart from Miles (I've very nearly finished collecting all his 70s output, my favourite period), I'm mainly into pianists. Peterson, Mehldau, Evans, Tatum, Hancock, Rebello, Jarrett, Connick Jr, etc. To answer the question, I don't really do bands these days. There's no-one about that interests me sufficiently enough. Apart from the almighty Radiohead, I very rarely buy contemporary music. |
deleted user 15.03.2005 18:18 |
I also like some Meatloaf, Freddie Mercury (solo), Elton John etc. I don't mind a few songs by Whitesnake. |

Muse, Manic Street Preachers, David Bowie, Supertramp, Doors, Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd, Zutons, Kaizers Orchestra, Evanescence, Franz Ferdinand, L42, Simple Minds, Alan Parson Project, Foo Fighters, Jeff Buckley, RHCP, Scissor Sisters do look very very promissing, Status Quo, Darkness, Pink Floyd, etc... there is alot of good music out there. Currently what Queen used to be to me in the past Muse are right now. |

favorite band except Queen...well, I've been too obsessed with Queen, so I haven't been much interested in any other bands for recent some years, though I used to listen to some such as Rolling Stones, Eagles, Aerosmith. But sometimes I listen to T.Rex, Spencer Davis Group, Jimi Hendrix...recently I like kinda older ones, dunno why... And I'm kinda interested in Evanescence among the new comers. I have their live DVD ( live in Paris) and I was so amazed and pleased to see it, cuz almost all of the audience were singing along with Amy Lee ( the lead singer ) through the show especially when she was singing as playing the piano. I love the hot passion between the band and the audience. I think I'll follow their developing career. |

From solo artists, I forgot to mention... Sarah Brightman I love seeing her live DVDs. Her live stages are very theatrical like "circus". :D |
Teo_torriate04 17.03.2005 04:11 |
Starship actually started out in the mid '60's as Jefferson Airplane (best known song probably the trippy 'White Rabbit'). They then updated their name to Jefferson Starship (recording one of my all time favourite singles 'Jane', just love that guitar break). Finally they dropped the Jefferson altogether to be plain Starship, wherupon they had some of their biggest hits in the early '80's (Nothin's Gonna Stop Us Now, We Built This City etc). Anyway, some of my faves, Wishbone Ash, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Thin Lizzy, Chris De Burgh (pre Lady In Red), Judas Priest, early ZZ Top, Robert Cray, Motorhead, and loads more I can't even think of. |
