I need to get from Brixton after the gig to Canary Wharf where my friends apartment is
Is it safe to get the tube after the concert ends...if not whats the safest way to get from one side of London to the other
Safest way is probably by taxi (black cab); I would look up the official London travel website link and you may be able to agree an advance price for this journey with a taxi firm.
The tube throughout the central parts of London is usually fine, and will mostly be busy (not least with 4,000 Queen fans!!) To get to Canary Wharf however may be a bit more of a bother as the tube/train lines out that way are likely to be quite empty and, as it's Easter Monday, probably not all that frequent.
Hope this is some help
Tube is fine after the gig I promise you.
Brixton to Canary wharf isn't that easy but...
Brixton is Victoria line end of the line, go one stop to Stockwell then get on the Northern line to London Bridge, then its Jubilee line to Canary Wharf.
I Think!!!
I can asure you the tube is great and the best/safest way to get around london. I have come back from nites out and footy matches in london all the time. Im an arsenal fan living in south london so im always travelling through london at nite (after matches) never had or heard of any problem. Its probably safer than the streets. get yourself a travelcard and a tube map and your sorted.
one word of warning most of the services wont run past 12.30/1.00 am so make sure you dont hang about too long after the gig. enjoy it!
Exactly, agreed.
Just wish they'd hurry up and get the Thameslink up and running again.
Walking from St Pancras to the underground in the cold is well annoying when you are wearing a t-shirt!
anybody any idea when the gig should finish because like a lot of people i need to know whether ill get my last train from paddingtron or whether i need to find accomodation
curfew is eleven.
as its a bank holiday I would guess 10.30 - 10.45.
Tube is a 3-5 minute walk once you get out of the venue which can take ages. Trains are regular. Shouldn't take more than 30 mins, unless your change (at Victoria?) goes badly!
