Have you ever attended a concert of Queen tribute band? There's one band from New York called "Almost Queen", does any of you have reference on this band? How's their performance on stage?
Almost Queen is the only Queen tribute band I've seen and, in my opinion, the name fits them well. Their shows are like a bizarre Queen show--with Freddie and John from the 1970's and Brian and Roger from the 1980's. They sound a hell of a lot like the real thing, and their repitoire is rather impressive, made up of material from Keep Yourself Alive to One Vision. I've heard them do everything from My Melancholy Blues to the fast We Will Rock You to Sheer Heart Attack (with the Ogre Battle intro riff) to Bohemian Rhapsody with Killer Queen in place of the opera section to You Take My Breath Away to I Want To Break Free to a dead-on Live Killers version of Now I'm Here to an amazing Don't Stop Me Now. It's pretty cool too how their singer plays guitar on Crazy Little Thing (with the guitarist on a black telecaster), tambourine on Keep Yourself Alive, and piano on all the appropriate songs, just like Freddie did. I've heard nothing but good things about this group, some people have gone as far as to say they're the best cover band around. Not meaning to sound like a commercial for this group but they're pretty impressive and I've definetly enjoyed their shows.
I caught "Queen For A Day" in Dallas one time and they were pretty great!
I have these links you can check them out Here are some QFad files
