Roger, to me has probably the most adorable and priceless sense of humor. Freddie was more quick on the draw, smart at comebacks, and irrascible, over the top, agreed and I really cannot choose in this category who cracks me up more. I guess Roger to me is as funny as Freddie, just he and Freddie were like partners in crime/comedy trying to out do one another...usually playing off of one another. Take for instance...in the Current Mojo Special Limited Edition of "The Greatest Classic Rock Albums Ever", where towards the end of Queen's interview about their 1979 Crazy tour,-- --you have to read Roger's entire infamous "hole" quote to believe it!---It never stops cracking me up.--Where does he get this stuff right off the top of his head?--He's hilarious, but in a delightful way.-- He's just such a charmer...like Monty Python meets Spinal Tap. He's as over the top as Freddie. And he seems to have a ton of fun dressing up as the naughty school girl and flirting with the camera in the video for "I Want To Break Free" and dressing in drag for "The Great Pretender" with Freddie. He's always as I call him "Roger Rabbit" not named after the movie but because like a rabbit, he is so talented and prolific as a songwriter too, "These Are The days Of Our Lives", "A Kind Of Magic", "Innuendo", "Radio Ga Ga", etc. What a guy, artistic, but great sense of humor and knows not to take things or himself too seriously. |

Definitely a sound bloke. Mind you, he wrote some suspect songs. Drowse, more of that jazz, calling all girls, don't lose your head, they'd be in my top 6 crap queen songs, I'm afraid. Wrote some great ones too, obviously. But it took him till 1984. |

Then I'd REALLY be in love...with my Hummer!-- --Maybe we can get Roger to update the lyrics....I'm In Love With My Hummer!-- |

--Since everybody keeps asking me what in the daylights am I referring to in regards to Roger's infamous "hole" quote, here's your answer-- --It's in the Current Mojo Special Limited Edition of "The Greatest Classic Rock Albums Ever", where towards the end of Queen's interview about their 1979 Crazy tour,-- --Roger's quote is about how Queen sold Paul McCartney & Wings a "Hole"!!, and it's about a full paragraph long.-- --It's about how on Queen's 1979 Crazy Tour, Queen was trying to fit their entire crown lighting rig into the venue (The Lyceum if I remember right), and it would not fit.-- --So Roger and the band asked the manager of the Lyceum if Queen could drill 2 holes in the venue's ceiling so that the crown lighting rig would fit ok. -- --Then, Roger got a call from Paul McCartney, and Paul said that He and Wings would be playing the Lyceum within the week or so and that their lighting rig would not fit in the venue either, so rather than drilling a New hole, could Paul "Buy" one of the holes from Queen!!-- --Roger replied to Paul, Yes! and says quote,-- --"We (Queen) became the first band to sell Paul McCartney a Hole"!!!!--- |

haha, great! I think Queen has humour, and a great one to! But I would just say that Drowse is one of Roger's best song, and it comes high on the Queen list also... |

Roger does have a good sense of humor. I have a Rolling Stone magazine at home from 1981 where he wrote a scathing letter to the editors on an air sickness bag after they wrote a terrible article on the band when they were in South America. |

Though he's written a lot of great songs, IMO he writes basically about the same thing. Common themes: fun, magic, crazy, etc. And not much in the melody department. But great percussion! I think his earlier stuff with Queen was his best. |
Good_Company50 23.03.2005 23:37 |
But I agree he has a wicked sense of humor. And if he gets angry about something, he can be quite scathing. I wouldn't want to get on his bad side. |

When the fuck have rabbits ever been known to be talented and prolific songwriters??? Yet again, you're reading too much into things. Rabbits are just little fluffy mammals that hop, eat and procreate I'm afraid. |

My analogy was a kidding one meant in fun, which goes in line with this topic...seeing as how unlike you...Roger DOES have a Great sense of humor. If he can write "I'm In Love With My Car" (kiddingly you moron, the song is meant to be tongue in cheek), I can kiddingly call him Roger Rabbit. Christ on a bike!, it's only a freakin' nickname meant with affection and is a Metaphor, not literal! |

His sense of humor is really brilliant. I really love him in the inerviews, specially when he's with Brian and Brian starts to say something serious and then Roger makes one of his jokes... it's wonderful. And I specially love him commenting the Calling All Gils video in GVH2. That's really funny to hear. |

Brian says something and I thing Roger interupts him so Brian pretends to be offended but Roger just tells him to shut up. Also on the one "Miracle" interview I watched John was talking and he looked behind the camera and told somebody it was okay to walk by then Roger passed and shook his bum behind John for the camera. |

No More Of The Jazz is a great song I think. And I'm In Love With My Car, Rock It, Action This Day and Sheer Heart Attack. All great songs. There is abit in either 'Innerviews' or 'In The Studio' interviews were Rog says "I find my car more interesting than my girlfriend most days. It has more to say to me, it takes me places, it's actually of some use". That is real humour. A very funny man. |
