Even though I am giving out free copies of the remix of Teo Torriatte from the recently released Jewels II CD by Queen, I really should make a recommendation while I'm at it!
(And forgive me if I sound like a salesperson/advertiser!)
This CD has a great sound to the quality of the tracks, which come from the 2001/2004 remasters. The digital remasters (Works tracks and onwards) don't sound as bad as some people will have you believe!
If you want a 'sampler' to the remaster CD's from 2001, and more recently the 2004 cardboard CD issues (which use the 2001 remastered tracks), this is an excellent buy.
Not only that, but there are stand-alone versions of a few tracks on this disc (notably "Love Of My Life" and "Made In Heaven")
To buy this, you can order it at CDJapan's website (or any other website :P ) at: link
If you don't want to buy it, that's fine! (But remember, Japanese CD's go out of stock quickly!)
Thank you again for the remaster of Teo Torriatte!
I've got the Live Killers cardboard sleeve and it sounds great. Much better than the old release. And the unique package is very beautiful. Will On Fire see a cardboard release?
It's a shame Jewels I & II weren't released in Europe. Just like what they did with Final Live and Tokyo 1982:'(
No problems!
I'm blown away myself by the quality of the remix. This would be THE highlight of Jewels II, obviously!
The biggest difference is how the choir at the end sounds. It's more masculine, and Freddie is more prominent in the mix
I actually like the femininity in the original. It sounded like a boys choir at first but the female voices really stand out. I've been told that they are the guys and their then-current girl friends?

Actually Inu, it's not as easy as that, i.e. everyone hears things differently. And that means, it's a sole opinion, in the end, by the listener.
The warning about some of the 2001 remasters is that they'll sound different (quite a bit) from the previous releases.
Peace,
Adam.
