I live in the USA and I would love to see them make their way here. I have tickets to see Paul Rogers on June 5, 2005 in Vermont and I know he is coming to my home state Connecticut in June as well. These dates were set way before the Queen tour was announced and I heard that the tour would have been longer if he did not have these previous obligations. I think all of you in England would be shocked at the large following Queen had and continues to have. A tour would be a great sucess. I too wish John would join the tour but as we all know, that will not happen. I say stop debating if it should be Queen tour or not but I say ENJOY it while you can, you have no idea how lucky you are to even have the option to see them again!!! |

Well said. Enjoy Paul's show - I'm still looking into if he's heading towards my neck of the woods. Judging from Brian's newly posted interview, we WILL get a chance to see the Q+PR show!!! |

Yes, guys!!! How exciting was that news?!!! |
kohuept 01.03.2005 15:21 |
Pretty exciting!!...understatement? So what type of venues do you think they will be able to pull off? If they don't start til September, their amphitheater time is limited due to winter. Do you think they could fill places like Conseco Fieldhouse, Delta Center, Palace of Auburn Hills? |
Mlaimo 01.03.2005 15:29 |
I can't express how excited I am about this! It's like a surreal dream come true. They'll play 8,000 seaters, in my opinion, although Arenas of 14,000 aren't out of the question, since they've been selling better in Europe than expected. I'll be at a few shows for certain. |

Could someone tell me what the exciting news was? I don't check Brian's website regularly and am curious what he said. :^) |
Queen T 01.03.2005 15:54 |
So you think small to medium-size venues? Think they'll just go for larger cities such as the ones they played in the 70's and 80's? |
kohuept 01.03.2005 16:33 |
I think they could do the 14,000 seaters in the larger cities, maybe. That would probably lead to a very short tour, wouldn't it? I definitey think they will need to ditch their "word-of-mouth" game plan when they come Stateside. They'll need to hit all the talk shows. If they do this, the arenas will be easily in their grasp. ps. the exciting news is that Q+PR will most definitely tour the US! |
Queen T 01.03.2005 16:53 |
Short tour? In any case, I'll be excited regardless of where they end up playing...they better come to Chicago!!! |

let's hope Hollywood Records realizes what a great opportunity they have on their hands (we fans already know!!!) |

financially, i believe a tour of the US and Canada would be successful. |

jasen101 wrote: financially, i believe a tour of the US and Canada would be successful.I completely agree, but at what scale do you think they would be pushing it? I mean, I would go see them if they played another 400 person club, but for obvious reasons I would rather see them in a 15,000+ arena. What are your thoughts on THAT being financially successfull? |

Wholly Kamolly, Where in the "Seven Seas of Rhye" have I been? Ann11 can you please tell me where in Vermont Paul Rodgers is going to be performing? I have been surfing ebay so long acquiring Queen goodies that I have completely been out of touch with upcoming shows. Of course been out of that circulation for many years since the 60', 70's and early 80's concert years. Saw "The Band" (QUEEN) 12 times in So. Cal. Backstage and record company/band parties life was great then. Now I'm a out of touch ex-disc jockey from the west hibernating in the tundra of Vermont. Too much dribble here, please ann11 let me know of the Paul Rodgers performance location. Most likely will pass on the psuedo Queen Tour. Without the "Mercury" nothing to get "Hot" about. "Don't Stop Me Now...........oooo--oooo" |

Uncasville, CT (June 5?) is the Mohegan Casino. Queen has played and recorded at casinos before, spin the wheel |

I have a feeling Queen will make it to the US, but with my luck, they probably wont make it to the West Coast. Hell even when Queen was still going in the 70's and 80's, the closest they made it to me is San Fransisco. Only an hour away, and Im willing to drive that far for Brian and Roger... and i guess Paul. (I saw Bad Company about 3 years ago, GREAT concert, im looking forward to see how Paul does as Freddie) |

"wow you are willing to drive a hour away such devotion!" LOL, exactly my thoughts :-) We're here travelling to many different countries to see Queen in concert and this guy is proud that he will even drive one hour to see them! :-) |
LowSammy 09.03.2005 21:09 |
I agree. If there's a US tour, I will be attending multiple concerts(as long as they play 2 shows in Southern Arizona). Just kidding. I hope I'm not getting my hopes up to see them. |

No doubt about it, once the radio, video and tv would wake up to the fact that Queen is at it again, it would be almostunanimous, it would be a show for the ages. Well, at least 2005. I know it's easy to write that but just imagine, how many teams of sports paraded around to 'We Are The Champions", night lifers boogy funked to "Another One Bites The Dust" and of course the fans of "Highlander" to know that "Who Wants To Live Forever" the originators of that song are actually out and about live. That there is just the casual listeners, then there are of course, us. Us, the know every song, solo and or group effort, so attached to the band, not so much as a casual listener but those of whom have made friends just by type alone, and that is the top of the mountain of fans. All I could ever advise Queen and Paul Rodgers is to keep the ticket prices very affordable here in the States. Queens musical friend, Slash (Guns-N-Roses & Velvet Revolver) did quite well with 10 dollar tickets at small venues and slightly higher in arenas recently as Velvet Revolver (and they were and still are quite popular). Ya know as, an American that I am, to not see my sister homeland, Britian, United Kingdoms biggest draw of 2005, most influential as aritsts, number one single of all time band Queen in person with Paul Rodgers is a huge let down for me. I know I speak for droves of persons who'd line up in seconds to minutes for tickets. When a cover band showed up months after Freddies death, the line was three wide and almost 100 feet long at the door the night of the club appearance. Now just consider even Queen & Paul Rodgers anywhere USA under guise of another name, noted in advance or even the night of circa 2005. I don't have to quiz or question anyone USA, I am anyone USA, like anyone else. Come here, expect one awesome reception, anywhere USA and especially in Massachusetts and New York. I've said my peace. Regarding Bruce Springsteen in all of this. USA and Springsteen EUROPE Queen & Paul Rodgers Two entities as world humanitarians, conscientious artisans and all of 'em rock and roll. I went on about Springsteen & Queen nearly a year before Nelson Mandelas first AIDS HIV awareness concert, titled 46664, broadcast in November 2003. All I will say for now is, somewhere out there was my message about what a collaboration would be like. I'm telling you first hand, "Say It Ain't True" a. k. a. "Say It's Not True" by Queen and Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) is as close as I've ever heard a Queen collaboration come to anything Springsteenian. It started with the accordian, acoustic guitar and a serious overtone to an otherwise hopeful song about not losing faith, direction and the promise of investigativeness people can be known good for in the face of a horrid disease, AIDS & HIV. Think what you will Springsteenians, I am one fan who thinks a collaboration, sometime soon or sooner is sorely needed. Ad the fact that U2 is up and around touring in 2005 and you, I, we've got a winner that at the least a one of a kind benefit to suprise guesting can seriously shake up humanitarian causes and rock us for ages. link |
