Has anyone noticed the vocal fix on Fat Bottom girls?
If you havent seen this gig before it was released on DVD you wont even notice as the fix is seamless...
However an edited version of this gig was screened as a tribute to Freddie in early 1992 i believe, and in that version during Fat Bottom Girls he sings a 'bum note' which seems to have been cunningly re-dubbed for the DVD release.
Does anyone know what I mean? please someone varify this so i dont look a fool hehe i have it on tape somewhere so i know it to be true...

ah sorry :-S i thought it might have been bought up before...i must have missed it :S sorry to be repetative, just wondered thats all
Are there any other mods on this or any other Queen DVDs or anything which i have missed??

yea i noticed it,
who's noticed freddie on we will rock you concert 81 vid freddie singing killer queen and it looks like hes deffo miming it, strange b/c he's singing live on the rest of the show,:S
THe We Will Rock You DVD has been put together from various concerts. The producers always changed the soundtrack. That's why it sometimes appears as if Fred's miming.

The Fat Bottomed Girls thing is a 'repair'. It's nicely done and sounds just great. I don't mind. Apart from that I didn't notice any 'overdubs'.
It's another typical "lie" from the Queen camp - the spoken intro to Staying Power has also been cut meaning that it's not the "complete" performance it was sold to us as being.....
I hope David, a guy in a German forum does not mind if I put his link of the "locality"-voice crack of Freddie into this thread. So, for all of you who cannot believe that Freddie does have his problems now and then; here is it:(right-click and save target as...) link
the link didn't work for me...is there another place i can find it?
and the overdub thing kinda bothers me a bit...i think i'd rather hear the original with the voice cracks and all...we don't wanna pretend like everything was just peachy
they really took some of the synths out...i noticed during under pressure there wasn't a distinct synth that was in on a tv show called "the tube" that aired the original broadcast.
Yeah i think its original form would be cool, i mean yes i can understand perfectly why they have chosen to change little things here and there but, hey! its not like we would mind if they hadnt!!

I guess it all depends on what the reason for the fix was at the end of the day.
1 - To try to dupe people into thinking that the performance was faultless?
2 - To paint over a crack?
Personally, neither sits well with me; what they have done is like taking chords from the beginning of "It's Late" and deletng them (oh, yeah, they already did that once, right.....) or moving a track mark between two sequed numbers on an album (oh yeah, they did that too, didn't they).
It's amateurish in my view and designed to make the listener think that they are hearing something that they aren't.

You don't have to follow the link! You have to click with the right mouse button, and choose "save target as"... the file you download is fatbottem.mp3

I could agree with both sides of the discussion. If you've got the original telecast, and want to hear the glitches, you can. I prefer 'touched up' to annoyances left in. I can almost guarantee that the 'crash' during the Earl's Court 'You Take My Breath Away' will be edited from a DVD release. Kinda makes sense. I turned the record level to zero for that brief moment when taping it to cassette. If I want to hear it, and admire how Freddie kept his head afterwards, I can do this as well.
I'd be more than happy if they'd fix some things so that Houston '77 would be released. Beats having two or three shoddily recorded audio-only segments that do not cover the entire concert.
I'm actually more upset that they didn't use the original film during the 'Flash' intro. And didn't get rid of the idiotic video during the taped part of BoRhap.
Perhaps they could have included the actual 'glitched' version on the bonus disk, with the use of some different film footage in parts.
Back to glitches. Hell, KISS had to go into the studio to fix up 'Strutter' and a few other tracks that appeared on 'Alive'. With five nights of tapes from Cobo Hall in Detroit, they couldn't even splice together ONE 'respectable' version. So, one of the biggest selling live albums wasn't entirely 'live'.

it is pretty bad but i honestly don't mind. i'd rather they didn't cover it up. i mean, in Teo Torriatte on the other disc you can hear Roger's voice crack too but who cares? it's live for goodness sakes, u don't have to make everything so perfect

Ah, well i'm a "purist" if that makes sense. I'd rather see the original without too much toying around with it. It does sound better the way they edited it but if I wanted it to sound perfect I'd listen to the recording
