what do you think is the best Queen song lyrically, my vote at the moment goes to the Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke, look at how complex these lyrics are: He’s a fairy feller The fairy folk have gathered round the new moon shine To see the feller crack a nut at nights noon time To swing his ace he swears, as it climbs he dares To deliver... The master-stroke Ploughman, ’waggoner will’, and types Politician with senatorial pope - he’s a dilly-dally-o Pedagogue squinting, wears a frown And a satyr peers under lady’s gown, dirty fellow What a dirty laddio Tatterdemalion and a junketer There’s a thief and a dragonfly trumpeter - he’s my hero Fairy dandy tickling the fancy of his lady friend The nymph in yellow ’can we see the master-stroke’ What a quaere fellow Soldier, sailor, tinker, tailor, ploughboy Waiting to hear the sound And the arch-magician presides He is the leader Oberon and titania watched by a harridan Mab is the queen and there’s a good apothecary-man Come to say hello Fairy dandy tickling the fancy of his lady friend The nymph in yellow What a quaere fellow The ostler stares with hands on his knees Come on mr. feller, crack it open if you please |

I feel The Show must go on has a great lyrics too. You know that had to be challenging for Fred to sing some of the words on Innuendo, knowing what he was going through...and what was coming. |

I agree with most of what you guys already have up (The Show Must Go On, Who Wants to Live Forever, Death on Two Legs, Bohemian Rhapsody, *You Take My Breath Away*, The Prophet's Song) but I think one is being left out... Yes, Is This the World We Created...? This song is a short set of lyrics, but those few words convey a very powerful message, especially that last line (like with Who Wants to Live, it's the last line that is the most powerful). Oh yeah, and Mustapha is pretty good lyrically ;) |

Yes, I remember when that came out I was only 15 and that line hit me right in the gut. It still does. I especially love how Freddie varies it live everytime, sometimes breaking character and allowing his emotions to get the better of him. Gives me chills! |

For sheer simplicity yet very powerful emotion, I've always loved Dear Friends. More than just another song, it's poetry set to music. |

My two favorites are The Show Must Go On and White Queen. I feel there are plenty of Queen songs with great lyrics but these stand out with the combo of poetic lyrics and powerful music. |
