These trading cards were issued in the USA in 1979. They were called "Rock Stars" cards and came 10 cards and a stick of gum to a pack. They featured popular bands at the time: Queen, The Babys ( with John Waite), Kiss, and The Village People. There were several cards for each band, and all sported a photo on the front and either a bio of the band or a member on the back, or a piece of a larger picture that could be completed when all cards were collected.
I have a complete set of the series, and the Queen ones are nice...well worth looking for. They have live shots from the "Crazy Tour" era and many of them i have never seen elsewhere.
I bought my full set of all the "Rock Stars" cards at a record show in Boston about 10 years ago for $8-$10 if i rememeber right. I have never seen them anywhere, so it's hard to know for certain what these are "worth" officially.
Many thanks!
there's a guy who's offering me just 26 of them (including some double), 'cause he wants to swap them with my KISS Bubblegum Cards Box (Empty, and original from 1978)and I'm not convinced at all...
I only kept the Queen cards - I remember buying them as a kid. I was always hoping and praying to get more than 1 Queen card in the pack...ah...that was like a ba-jillion years ago...but I still have those cards and they still are in mint condition.
Thanks for reminding me that I have these things!
Deacons 1st - they weren't from the Crazy tour - the photos are older than that...Freddie had short hair and no mustache - wore leather - what was that, the Jazz tour? (I'm old - I forget.)
