I agree that Death on two legs should have been a single....but i disagree, I think Good ol' fashioned loverboy was NOT a waste of a single..thats an awesome song |
liam 13.02.2005 01:52 |
i no its a good song but when there are other good songs on an album they should be released. u must agree its not like other queen singles for someone whos never herd queen before u wouldnt show them that. |
foxxy_moron 13.02.2005 03:28 |
stone cold crazy should have been a single!!! but i love now im here. was love of my life ever a single??? |
Gunpowder Gelatine 13.02.2005 03:36 |
Tie Your Mother Down definitely should've been a single in America. It would've been perfect; I wonder why they chose Long Away instead. |

foxxy_moron wrote: stone cold crazy should have been a single!!! but i love now im here. was love of my life ever a single???yep, the live killers performance from Frankfurt was a single release in the UK. also Flick Of The Wrist WAS a single in the UK, double a-side with Killer Queen which got to #2 in 1974. |
Plengel 13.02.2005 09:02 |
"One Year Of Love" shouldn't have been put out as a single. In fact, "One Year Of love" should have never been released at all. It should rot away in the Queenvaults and never come out. |
sofakingwot 13.02.2005 09:55 |
For the record.... Tie Your Mother Down was a single in the US, as was Need Your Lovin Tonight (both went nowhere). Not sure if Flick of the Wrist was a double 'A' in the US, but it was definitely the b side on the Killer Queen single. Was always surprised Spread Your Wings didn't chart better in the UK and that it wasn't released as a single in the US...seemed very radio friendly at the time |

i think ride the wild wind- should, invisible man- shoudnt |
Lester Burnham 13.02.2005 12:19 |
'You And I' should've been a single. Same with 'Stone Cold Crazy', 'If You Can't Beat Them', 'Let Me Entertain You', and 'Dead On Time'. 'Body Language', no. 'Calling All Girls' would've been a good UK substitute, and maybe 'Life Is Real' or 'Put Out The Fire' (despite the duff lyrics). |

QUEEN good single QUEEN II good SHEER HEART ATTACK should: Brighton Rock shouldn't: Now I'm Here A NIGHT AT THE OPERA good A DAY AT THE RACES good NEWS OF THE WORLD should: It's Late shouldn't: Spread Your Wings JAZZ good LIVE KILLERS should: We Will Rock You (fast) - 2nd single THE GAME good FLASH GORDON good HOT SPACE oh boy! should: Staying Power shouldn't: Back Chat THE WORKS very good choice of singles A KIND OF MAGIC should: Princes Of The Universe shouldn't: Friends Will Be Friends LIVE MAGIC should: Bohemian Rhapsody THE MIRACLE good INNUENDO should: Ride The Wild Wind shouldn't: Headlong LIVE AT WEMBLEY'86 good MADE IN HEAVEN should: Made In Heaven (6th single? Should: Queen I Good Queen II White Queen as 2nd single Sheer Heart Attack Good Night at the Opera Death on two legs additionally Day at the races You and I instead of Tie your mother down News of the World WATC and WWRY not as double A side...would have been interesting to see which one sells better Jazz Good The Game Good Flash The Hero Hot Space Calling all Girls for Europe Not Body Language The Works Good A Kind of Magic Princes of the Universe as 5th Single The Miracle Was it all worth it instead of Scandal Innunendo Days of our lives seperately...it is funny that they claim this to be a number 1 hit...the number 1 was BoRhap Ride the Wild wind instead of I'm going slightly mad Made in Heaven Born to Love you and made in heaven would have been worth a single release |
AllDeadAllDead 13.02.2005 16:14 |
i love brighton rock, but i dont think a song with a 3 minute guitar solo in the middle would have made a good single. calling all girls should have been a single, and i'd still keep body language, that song is somehow more popular in the us than it is in uk. possibly an edited version of It's Late from notw, its got rock radio written all over it. |
Melancholy Blues 14.02.2005 03:27 |
should have: life is real, tie your mother down, the hero, the millionaire waltz, you take my breath away, death on two legs, don't try suicide, love of my life shouldn't have: body language, the invisible man, headlong, good old fashioned lover boy, friends wil be friends, play the game, breakthru |

I agree about Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Friends Will Be Friends & Invisible Man, terrible choices !! |

jealousy should have been a single from jazz life is real from hot space sail away sweet sister from the game princes of the universe and gimme the prize from akind of magic was it all worth it from miracle |
Jimmy Dean 14.02.2005 20:21 |
I think Queen did a good job of choosing what songs shuold go out and which ones shouldn't, obviously there were a few misses here and there, but I think Queen left one off the Game album, that could have made it: Sail Away Sweet Sister. And the reason it was probably left off was because of the two other single-Ballads off the same album (Play The Game & Save Me) and the added fact that Brian was on vocals |

supernova190188 wrote: Should - The Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke, The March Of The Black Queen,Ogre Battle?!?!!? The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke? The March Of The Black Queen? No, those would've sunk Queen's reputation faster than the I Want To Break Free video did in 1984. Play The Game was a horrible choice for a single - Need Your Loving Tonight would've been a better universal release. Keep Passing The Open Windows would've been big, too, if released as a single. |
Scott_Mercury 14.02.2005 22:53 |
Freddie should have sang Sail away sweet sister...I think it would have been one of Queen's top twenty signature songs had King Mercury had that one. |
News Of The World 14.02.2005 23:44 |
Keep Passing The Open Windows as a single?? A Good song but no way should it have been a single, Tear It Up or Machines would have to be concidred before KPTOW. |
Melancholy Blues 15.02.2005 00:23 |
life is real is one of my favourite queen songs, it just seems so personal to me. i think that it could have saved the hot space album if they had of released it as a single. i've always thought it was the only song that might have been about freddie's sexuality and life, (im not one of those people that thinks everything he wrote was about being gay) |

STONE COLD CRAZY could work well as single PLAY THE GAME I agree- terrible one... DEATH ON TWO LEGS maybe... And pity that double A side FLICK OF THE WRIST didn't get any airplay- it's an awesome thing! |

what singles were released from Queen II ? |
bitesthedust 15.02.2005 15:33 |
Seven Seas Of Rhye was released from Queen II, I think that's it - aside from White Queen which was part of the EP release in 1977 with Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy etc. |

DOTL and PotU should have. It would definitely prove interresting to see how LiR would have done as a single. I love GOFL, but it reminds me too much of an album track - Seaside Rendezvous, etc. It could have been left as such. |
