Two Freddie's songs from the "Hot Space" sessions exist in the vaults, the duet with Michael Jackson "Victory" also, and there's an outtake from "Innuendo" called "Self-Made Man"... When I see "It's A Beautiful Day" (an improvisation from 1980) and "Track 13" on "Made In Heaven", I always wonder if the album couldn't have been different (if not better) and why Brian & Co didn't use other, more valuable outtakes or real home demos from Freddie, which surely exist. "Made In Heaven" is certainly good, but could it have been better? |

If Freddie wasn't ill perhaps he could have recorded some more "brand-new" tracks, but taking the circumstances surrounding the band, it couldn't have been better than it was. |

It's stupid to cogitate with these things. Made In Heaven is just perfect in that form it was made. |

I'm sure they could have used better stuff than some you can find on the final album. |

I know what you mean, but don't you think it works so well as a Queen album because of the theme and content? It's an excellent coherent work, I think. Same reason I Go Crazy isn't on the works, great song but doesn't quite fit with the rest of the album. Although there are other demos, there's not much more they could have done with that album, I mean Love Makin Love wouldn't have been the most appropriate song to bung on there would it? |
LiveAidQueen 12.02.2005 11:53 |
Well they didn't do anything to make it better so we will never know....I don't think they could have. |

Tracks 1,2,3!!,7!!! and 8 are superb .. and I think track 4 (although it's emotional bçause it's Freddie's last one), 5,6,9!! and 10 aren't very good .. I don't listen to them anyway. But hey, that doesn't make it a bad album. I think it's good; Most of the songs fit in the theme (except for 6 and 9!!) and Bri&co did an awesome job with especially track 1. Every cd has it's less interesting songs.. for example; The Loser at the End at QueenII Flick of the Wrist at SHA Fight From The Inside at NotW Dancer at Hot Space Machines at The Works and still I think they are great albums .. So every album can always be better .. But what for somebody is a great album (I personally love The Works!) is for someone else his or her least favourite.. |

I don't think so... I've seen a documentary of Roger and Brian, made after freddie's lost... In it, te remaining members of Queen spoke shortly about Made in Heaven. Watching that, i could realize something the Queen band as it is now, will never be like it was before because, along with Freddie, they have lost the "Special Touch" that freddie brought to the group... Talkin' back about Made in Heaven, i think they did a great work, given the circumstances of the band when the album was released... |

ye .. it's a bit off-topic, but how about this new album where Rog and Brian where talking about? Something about new material written by them and by Paul.. I think this would be a great follow up for MIH; 1. Self Made Man (with Freddie on vocals) 2. Stealing (with Freddie on vocals) 3. I Go Crazy (with Freddie on vocals) 4. (new Queen song, with Paul on vocals) 5. (new Queen song with Paul on vocals) 6. Keep On Running (with Roger on vocals) 7. Allright Now (re-recording) 8. (new Queen song, with Brian on vocals) 9. Invincible Hope 10. (new Queen song, with Paul on vocals) 11. We Will Rock You (The SongWriters Hall of Fame version, with Paul on vocals) 12. We Are The Champions (Paul on vocals with the new guitar solo at the end) 13. Hammer To Fall (slow version, with Paul on vocals) Lead vocals; Paul, Brian, Roger Guitar; Brian and Jamie Moses at track 6,7,8,11,13 Drums; Roger Taylor Bass; John Deacon at tracks 1,2,3 and Danny Miranda at tracks 4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13 Keyboards; Spike Edney at tracks 5,7,8,10,11,13 .. Just a dream I had :) |

Brian and Co? Hmmm... Well, a good album, IMO, and it was an album, but not anthology of demos and unreleased songs. |

New member here.. I adore the 'Made In Heaven' album for its emotion and the sentiment that its Queens last album as a four piece with Freddie - the fact his vocals sound so powerful despite his illness is a great testament to the mans talent and the fact he wanted to record music up until his death shows just how recording could motivate him. I treasure the album |

Maybe a finished version of "I guess we're falling out" would fit the album (if it had enough Freddie vocals) |

Look guys, there's no point in arguing whether MIH is perfect or not. Even if it could have been better, it's not. Arguing over it doesn't change the past. Why don't we focus on what MIH is instead of wondering how it could have been? It's kinda waste of time to talk this thing over. Like the other topic, about what songs should have been singles and which ones shouldn't... |

I think those are two of the best tracks in the band's entire catalogue. Smoggy wrote: New member here.. Made In Heaven is a close second (to Innuendo) for my all-time favorite album. I simply adore it! :D |
