Yep, over a week old but I've just found out that this worker who was fired is our neighbour.
Personally I find this odd. Certainly it's probably an inappropriate gift but since they have no formal complaint they have no right to give him the flick.
You have to note that he wasn't fired (he was re-instated on full pay last Friday) due to sexual harrassment but 'gross' misconduct.
Any thoughts on this?
Apparently some employees were offended when she unwrapped the present. He said to us earlier on 'It was the cheapest, nastiest vibrator I could find. I couldn't care less what she does with it'. She has told this guy she's giving it to a girlfriend of hers for a Hens night.
This woman he gave it to has also been in a bit of strife. She went to work drunk and made a bed, lay down and went to sleep. Three men nearly lost their jobs because they set the bed up and what not. Also she got pissed on a flight from over East and had Australian Federal Police 'escort' her off the airport. This bloke gives her a vibrator and crotchless panties (he however states he did not give her the latter) and is fired for gross misconduct. Fair enough I suppose. It was done in humour but I guess he has broken company policy/ethical policy.
