Hi i wonder if you can answer me this question which i know the answer to and i wonder how many of you know. Here's the question: Which queen song on one of thier albums features only brian may and roger taylor? Name just the song. |
We Are The Champions 08.02.2005 11:54 |
I think it's Fight From The Inside Bass/Guitar/Vocals Roger Guitar Brian It has to be one of their early albums where Roger or Brian sang the lead. |
Farlander 08.02.2005 11:58 |
Definately "Fight from the Inside." |

Daveboy35 08.02.2005 12:55 |

BRENDA wrote: And no the answer is not fight from the inside even though it features just them two.Maybe you should rephrase the question? Do you mean only on vocals, entirely instruments and vocals or just an instrumental? |
Daveboy35 08.02.2005 12:58 |
THE songs feature instruments and vocals entirely by bri and rog there's a few of them. |
We Are The Champions 08.02.2005 13:39 |
Sorry about this....you mean that John doesn't play bass. Is that right? |
kohuept 08.02.2005 14:55 |
I suppose something from Flash might just have the two of them. No vocals, though. |

Not too sure, but I go with the others. |

There's two songs credited to both of them, appearing on two albums, 'The Works' and 'GH III'. |
Daveboy35 08.02.2005 15:41 |
yes john does not play bass |

I was wondering about GC also, but Freddie sings SHA. |

The songs are the loser in the end from queen2 good company anato, drowse adatr, fight from the inside nows and sheer heart attack. |
1quen_fan 08.02.2005 16:44 |
I like the song Fight From the inside! |
Bohardy 08.02.2005 16:44 |
Procession |
Bohardy 08.02.2005 16:46 |
Loser In The End, Good Company, and Drowse have John, and Sheer Heart Attack has Freddie, so that's bollocks. |

BRENDA wrote: The songs are the loser in the end from queen2 good company anato, drowse adatr, fight from the inside nows and sheer heart attack.I agree with Fight From The Inside and Sheer Heart Attack...can't hear vocals from Freddie at all unless they're low in the mix. Loser In The End.....definite bass line there so who played bass? Can't see a credit on the album. Drowse.....electric rhythm Roger...doesn't sound like a bass there....slide Brian so O.K. Just want to satisfy my curiosity. It's times like these when you listen to the songs more closely. |
kohuept 08.02.2005 17:18 |
Again, Freddie sings SHA. The only bit Roger sings (I think) is "-ticulate". I don't have the notes with me (at work), but shouldn't it be assumed that JD plays bass unless otherwise noted? I though the only time this happened if for FftI. |

The thing about Drowse is that Sebastian believes that John played the acoustic rythym in the song by the strumming pattern... and isn't there a bass in Drowse? |
Lester Burnham 08.02.2005 18:16 |
John played bass on all Queen songs except 'Sheer Heart Attack', 'Fight From The Inside', and 'More Of That Jazz' (and maybe even a few from Hot Space, notably 'Dancer'). So you're wrong. The only song that would feature Brian and Roger is officially 'Fight From The Inside', though 'More Of That Jazz' may feature some guitar work from Brian. Nice try. EDIT: Yes, and 'Procession' - good catch, Bohardy! |
Daveboy35 09.02.2005 03:14 |
I got all the info from the album sleeves and then out of curiosity i checked the web found "bechstein debauchery" site i think it's sebastian's site and it has a lot of info on there apparaently john deacon did play on loser in the end but not bass guitar but he played acoustic guitar, i can't hear any bass in drowse at all but it could be there somewhere. Again with good company with brian playing so many different styles of guitar it's very hard to tell if there's any bass, isit really freddie on SHA he must be singing with roger at the same time then cause that's defo roger but i might be wrong. And yes procession does have bri and rog on it i totally forgot about that one duh!!!! makes you look sometimes when you hear a song and u think there's no freddie input or john etc. |

I though the only time this happened if for FftI.You're right....Freddie does sing on SHA. It's very hard to tell but it's him alright (it would have vocal Roger credited otherwise) Also, Fight From The Inside is the only official Brian & Roger only track. John plays bass on Loser In The End definitely. Good Company...think there's bass on that right at the beginning. Drowse...electric rhythm Roger so maybe there's no bass line on this. This has been bugging me for some reason. I feel better now! |
Brianmay1975 09.02.2005 12:06 |
A year ago, a guy asked Brian who sang lead vocals on SHA and Brian replied in his soapbox. I don't have the exact quote, but the idea was that it's Freddie who sings lead vocals on this one. Roger did a demo tape with his vocals, which he showed to the band. It was quite well done, so they used it for the proper recording of the song. That's why you get the impression you hear Rog's voice, you do, but in the background. The "-ticulate" part is indeed Roger, Brian said. So Freddie sings lead on SHA, that's for sure. I'd givew credit to Brian on this one, wouldn't you? |
kohuept 09.02.2005 12:36 |
This is a genuine question, so no-one take this the wrog way, please...but... What is the confusion with who is singing SHA? I get that Freddie is singing like Roger, but it still sounds very much like Freddie to me. Am I missing something? Is there more than just the similar vocal and the small clip that actually is Roger? |

And, for the record, there is definitely bass on 'Loser' and 'Drowse', and it is definitely John playing bass. Reference my above post for more information. |
