I dont see a thread for this, or maybe tehre was one and I am just blind or something.....but who is the bass player for the tour???
I've heard mention of one Steve Barnacle.....dunno who he is...........was he the guy at the Queen Amsterdam gig?
Amsterdam, think the U.S. HOF, Roger's Electric Fire tour...good, solid bassist. In my opinion better than Pino P, but that's just my opinion! I love his bassline on 'London Town, C'mon Down'!
I think Steve Barnacle is a good choice- Roger is used to playing with him-which I think is important for the rhythm section. I also like his base lines on Electric Fire Album.

Thought is was Spike at the US HOF concert. My money is on Jamie Moses.

Spike was on keyboards at the HOF, Steve Barnacle was on bass :-)
They certainly won't have someone that isn't a bass player "by trade" - they will have to have someone whose principal instrument is bass.
Hah - it's like saying that Brian should sing....
I would be surprised if Jamie is there - any second guitar duties can be carried out by Paul who would only really be needed on Free or Bad Co. material if at all. They also have Spike who can "turn a trick" if needs be.
Fingers crossed though that they will just be Paul, Brian, Roger and a bass player - unfortunately Spike will be there, but we can pretend.....
From Jamie Moses website:
"4th February, 2005
Well folks, looks like I’ll be off ‘round Europe and the UK with Queen & Paul Rodgers then! We’re all really looking forward to this one – hope to see you there!"
The problem with Spike is that his sound seems to dominate over and above the guitar and vocals. Listen to "anything" from 1985 and 1986 and all you can hear is a synthesiser over the top of the other instruments.
Who the fuck is he?
Steve Barnacle would have been good and someone like Jason Falloon would have been great on second guitar... seems like Brian has been at it again...

Jamie Moses is a MUCH better choice than Jason. I also don't see much difference between Steve Barnacle and this Danny Miranda but I don't know them well.

Indeed Jamie Moses is MUCH better! And trust me: I'm not saying Dandy Miranda is better then Barnacle (though I personally think he IS...), but at least he is not as boring! Miranda is known for making a spectacle on stage! Running around and hammering his instrument with all kinds of stuff like violin bows and (yesyes!) vibrators! He also plays an electric contra-bass on stage every now and then. Would be nice for My Melancholy Blues!!
