Would be very cool indeed! (Wish they'd put the date a bit back though, for financial reasons :-S
So, but at least now we know for sure that Jamie WILL be playing with them ;-)
Well, at least we know that Jamie is playing second guitar to Brian on the tour now. I would have thought the Hyde Park dates would just be the annual Prince's Trust concerts that the SAS Band do, but, as they're on the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour date page, it is either that Bri and Rog are doing 2 nights themselves (ambitious??) or are playing a set (headlining) the Prince's Trust gigs?
Any thoughts??

I think the same! Queen + Paul Rodgers only is very, very ambitious? even if tickets for the tour are sold out!! Hyde Park is massive.. 150,000 I think so 300,000 over two nights is maybe pushing it. I'd go anyway.....fancy a trip to London anyway and would see WWRY as well.
Maybe you won't have to wait for tickets... Hyde Park may be FREE (without any joke)... remember they played a free concert there just 30 years ago ;-)

in recent years though, most hyde park concerts have been charged for. Given the "cost" of the tour, i think that this will be no exception.
If it is to be Hyde Park, then tickets will definately be on sale as opposed to being a free concert - the Princes Trust wouldn't raise any money otherwise, would it?

I'd prefer the back to basics too....however Jamie is a good guitarist. This is reminiscent of The Brian May Band tour of 93 & 98. Wonder if there'll be back up singers too.......hope not.
But in the press release Brian was quoted saying there would be mainly "4 or 5 of us" on stage, no back-up this or back-up that.
Still you're right, no word yet about the line-up, and if Jamie Moses takes part he may only play on few songs, or play bass or... tune Brian's guitar. We'll see.
Jamie is not playing Bass I spoke to him and as he's always said he does not like playing bass live, in the studio no probs, look out for Steve Barnicle of Visage, Roger, in Amsterdam fame, he's been in rehersals for the last 2 weeks
No, I AM glad Jamie's there. They nowadays need a second guitar for the massive sound we all expect. And yes, Hyde Park (on their own) would be awesome.
If it's an 'on their own' show (or a full length anyway), mark my words: that's were the tour-dvd will be filmed!
(Good excuse to put out the seventies Hyde Park-show as a bonus and make it a 'Definitive Queen at Hyde Park Anniversary Edition). Man, if only I were Queen's A&R manager! ;-)))
"They nowadays need a second guitar for the massive sound we all expect."
Why? Why play the same songs with two guitars that they played with one twenty years ago? It only made sense when Brian was singing on his solo tours. When there are two guitars, it's just for showing off really and endless, stupid guitar solos.
If anything, Roger would be the one who needs help in form of a second drummer.
"Don't worry, Brian said that there wouldn't be any backup singers on this tour."
Yes and he also said 4-5 people max. - and we already have Brian, Roger, Paul, Spike and most likely also Jamie and Stevie. Six people already :-)
Hyde Park would be cool. I agree NO back-up singers. Are we sure Spike is going to be there? I am thinking they are going to have another dummer--Keith Prior???? He's been around at most of their "one off" gigs in the past few years and was on the Roger 99 tour.
I am very out of touch with whats going on at the present time and am finding this very very interesting....My Queen and Freddie CD,s are still the most popular in my house...
