I just saw the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (BBC television series version) this week several times. I think I'm in love! I must have a thing for cult movies/books I mean, here I am a Rocky Horror girl... Anyway has anyone else seen it? Read the book? Anything?
Yeah i've got that on video. Its great. I've also heard the BBC radio thing they did. The radio version covers the next two books as well. Nothing has covered the fifth book though...
Does anyone know anything about the movie thats supposed to be coming out soon?
Oh I'm longing to hear the radio version. After all it was originally written for radio, right?

I've read the books, heard the radio series and watched the TV series. I really like the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. When i've seen it once i don't always want to see it again though. I think out of all books, radio and TV series the books are the best. Try and get hold of some of the books. They're great!
I have Hitchhikers on cassette and DVD! If you get it on DVD you gets tons of extras.
Mine is Marvin the parranoid android. My second favorite is Zaphod Beeblebrox. It is a good series. Shame the TV series only covered 2 of the the books hey. I enjoyed reading the books though. Hitchhikers is one of the only books i have read properly and really enjoyed.
douglas adams will be greatly missed
his books are great works of sci-comedy
hitchiker's guide to the galaxy
the restaurant at the end of the universe
life, the universe and everything
so long, and thanks for all the fish
and - mostly harmless
but if you really want to read great Douglas Adams books try
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, and
The Long, Dark teatime of the Soul
these are fantastic books - they are about 15 years old, and i find them so good i usually re-read them once a year...
the last Dirk Gently book "Salmon of Doubt" is unfinished - but worth a read as it was a great plot, and is also filled with essays and letter he wrote - some of which are hysterical

I read some of the book, but I have yet to finish it all.
Douglas Adams is a great writer. I must admit i absolutely love reading the books and like Brenski said i would also probably re read them in a year if i had them. I borrowed them off a teacher and as i said they're excellent. Worth getting.

which one?
if you haven't read the two dirk gently book - read them - honestly they are brilliant...and for those who can't afford to buy - it's worth the trip to the library
Love the books, but the best way to enjoy them is to listen to the original BBC Radio 4 radio series. Thought the TV series was a bit lame to be honest.
Dont forget the Hollywood film that's due out later this year i believe. Be interesting to see how the americans adapt the particularily English humour.
I like Zaphod Beeblebrox and Ford Prefect best. In different ways. I like Zaphod because he's so egotistical he's funny and loveable, and Ford because he's a bit odd and cute and for that matter I like Arthur because he's English and he has a cute smile! Sorry took me so long to read all this... I was gone for a few days...
They want me to take you up to the bridge. Here i am, brain the size of a planet and they want me to take you up to the bridge. Call that job satifaction, coz i dont!
